Dante Aligieri returned from the brutal existence of the Crusades within the Holy Lands only to discover his beloved wife, Beatrice Portinari, dead. Together, they had sworn to stay faithful to each other forever, as did all those who spoke wedding vows. Yet Beatrice had placed her complete trust in her husband to the point that she had sworn to Lucifer himself that her husband would never stray from her. But the realities of war changed Dante, and in the last days of his service, he took a Persian whore to his bed to satisfy the desires that had been pent up from the years away from his wife. The vow that Beatrice made would become her damnation. Lucifer claimed her soul as one of his own rather than allowing her to ascend to Paradise where she rightfully belonged, his intent being to make her his Queen-Consort. The guilt of breaking his vow weighed heavily upon Dante, and that night he traversed the pathway to Hell, descending ever-lower into the pits of Tartarus to reclaim his lost love. But Lucifer is not known as the Deceiver for nothing.

    Nicely done!

I'd first like to point out that the mixing was fantastic - having watched the scene several times I still find myself not really *noticing* the particular sfx, as it holds together very nicely. At times the dialogue is perhaps slightly obscured, but I found that to be the case in the original too. I suppose it's difficult to have a conversation in a blazing inferno.

Dark monologues are great fun so I very much enjoyed being in this clip, despite taking far too long to get lines done for it.

Shudo - loved your performance as Beatrice here! I haven't heard you do many of the more womanly voices, and I thought your tone, acting, lip syncing and evil laugh were fantastic. I'm honored to have shared a vocal sloppy kiss with you. xD

Rubedo - you didn't have very much to do in this scene, but I'm liking your voice. I'd expect a slightly older tone for this character, and I thought the sound when you leaped across the chasm could've had a bit more oomph. But I'm looking forward to hearing more of your work and I liked that you infused emotion and drive into even very minimal lines =)

    Well done everyone!

Thanks! It's been a great pleasure working with you so far. I'm certain that there are a few more clips from this game in the future that I plan to do. One or two of them might be a bit to "hot" for the VAA (graphical nudity mostly), but I may still dub them and just not post direct links.

Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! As soon as I saw this scene in the game a while back, I knew that I had to fandub it. It's short but intense, and it's not the usual anime or video game fandubs that you see here.

Hehe, I tend not to voice in my own projects unless they are very minor roles most of the time. But you're absolutely right. Shudo really blew me away with the unexpected accent and voice tone. Thanks for watching, Damaru!

    Okay, so, this was...

Fucking amazing. No joke. The mixing was god-tier all over the place and Shudo, Sarifus and Ruby all did awesomely (Although Ruby did sound a bit too young for the role)!

    So yes. Fucking amazing <3

...why have I not played this game yet? Well, anyway, it was a good watch! The performances were solid and the mixing was top notch.

All pictures used belong to their respective owners.

Awww, thank you Pawt! One of the reasons I chose Ruby for the role was to get a strong voice differentiation between Dante and Lucifer. I'm sure that with the other clips that I have planned for this game, that will be something I'll keep an eye on though. Glad you enjoyed it though.

The game is definitely meant for mature audiences only, just as a warning (plenty of fairly-explicit sexual content mostly), but it's definitely worth a playthrough just for the bizarre visuals alone. Thanks for watching the clip.

Um.. so that was just fantastic!!

Tonberry, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite producers around here on the VAA. Everything from the SFX, to video quality, to your attention to detail in the presentation of the thread just shows how you strive for nothing less of perfect. You mixed the SFX so well that I didn't even notice them, I was so drawn into the whole thing that I forgot I was watching a fandub. As far as acting goes, Shudo and Sarifus filed their roles perfectly. Emotions, tone (lovely to hear shudo in a more mature role), and delivery were all spot on. I feel that Rubeo's voice matched the character well, however I expected more raw emotion in the last two yelling lines. I know Ruby's capable of lines like that so thats why I was a little let down to hear him hold back.

Overall, this was just amazing! I'm definitely going to be stalking your productions from now on Tonberry 8D
