I kinda have to thank ProjectTrinity for nudging me into trying composing again. Yeah, again -- a long while ago I tried composing using only my home piano, a synth keyboard, and a blank music staff booklet. I didn't get very far, the stuff in my head just seemed too fuzzy to get down on paper, so I concluded I just didn't have much of that composing knack and quit on it for a long time. XP

That is, until I looked into FL Studio. Now I could actually listen to a melody portion I had in my head and see if it sounded like I thought it did, and on top of that, put it together layer by layer, trial-and-error style.

Thus, what you see here are the first several compositions I've done to try to expand my palette! I still feel like I need to practice more and try various types of songs, so I'm still experimenting.

    "Mysterious Melody"
    http://www.box.net/shared/o0xatcm0i2
This one above is one of the very few songs from before I got FL Studio (like from 2005) that I felt was worth remembering enough to write down (re-transcribed into FL Studio because the original recording was done with a mic that sounds like it's from the 1930's XD;; )

    "Winter Lullaby"
    http://www.box.net/shared/elpuecgtzi
The first one I did on FL Studio!

    "My Magnificent Fairy Godfather"
    http://www.box.net/shared/nzq2qbbmzt
The 2nd! I really like this one. X3

    "Battle Against My Dark Childhood"
    http://www.box.net/shared/jd45tc1f9v
The 3rd! Meant as a battle BGM loop. I'm actually very fond of this one too.

    "Purification Ceremony"
    http://www.box.net/shared/77xkkpbkqa
    The 4th! A very Asian-sounding song.

I'll probably be updating this thread with new songs as I go along. I'm trying not to burn myself out on composing stuff, so I'll just post new songs as I make 'em and feel ready to share them. XP (The above were all composed this past December actually)

    "Anquis's Wrath"
    http://www.box.net/shared/ronktnpqi2
The 5th! Didn't know it, but ended up being for The Perjurer series!

    "Anquis's Theme"
    http://www.box.net/shared/vvc5muyle5
The 6th! A remix of the one above, just changing instruments; funny though that this later one is the main theme!

    ---

    "Alice's Theme"
    http://www.box.net/shared/cng2vyd3b2
The 7th! This is actually a remix of an as of yet unreleased track called "She Comes" by ProjectTrinity for The Perjurer series, but I can tell you for sure, you'd have a hard time recognizing it otherwise! =P

    "Caryn's Theme"
    http://www.box.net/shared/mfrm1pgn1r
The 8th! This is also a remix of a track called "Your Goodnight" by ProjectTrinity, not released for The Perjurer OST yet but on an album of his you can find on Amazon. =D Pretty recognizable from the original, but a markedly different tone.

    "The Wonder Child At Play"
    http://www.box.net/shared/5o4t44yv4m
The 9th! Yet another remix, but of my own song this time, Mysterious Melody up there. Again, you can compare the two and they have markedly different atmospheres.

wow, I did not know you could compose music too! Well done Tomoya-chan, you're multi talented! <3

I liked all musics but there's one music I really loved and that was the Winter Lullaby.

I don't know why but I almost cried listening to that music and I thought it was really well done.

Keep up the great work Tomoyo-chan! I'll look forward to new music from you! ^^

I still need to play around with Battle Against My Dark Childhood. I actually made a completely separate Perjurer track inspired by that battle theme.

That's my lazy way of saying "Pfft yeah, compose moar!" Tis if you had the time, MIRITE?

Heheh, I didn't know either until I tried out that program! Thank you, I'm so happy that you liked my work. Especially that one of them you were moved so much ;o; It's a warmth in the middle of winter, and considering how much I've gotten to dread the cold, that means something to me ^^ I'll be sure to post more as I go along!

Thank you so much! I'm glad that you liked it, I really like that one too; I hear the piano and e-guitar battling it out on counterpoint, and a sense of struggle that seems very personal. I'm hoping to post more battle-esque songs sometime soon when I broaden my palette some more! =D

I swear, my uncanny tendency of posting exactly the same time as someone else as followed me from Livejournal to VAA. XD;;;; (Too lazy to copy the quote over to the previous post, so double posting, fneh.)

A Perjurer track?? *is highly intrigued* Inspired how, I'm curious? Like melody? Theme? Instrumental palette? =Oa

As for composing more, yes it's all about time XD;; I usually end up needing at least several hours in a row to be able to do much, because it's kinda a creative momentum thing 6_6 I need more composing experience before I can keep mental bookmarks on musical ideas, so to speak.

Like.........uhh...... I'll send it to you. xD Via Youtube or email. I have some issues with the technical merits of it, but you should be able to tell right off the bat that the chances of me making the track without your song is zero to miracle.

Yes, and lets face it, if I had to choose between your voice and your composing ...well~
