Alright, so I'm around about halfway through my teenage years, and puberty is in full swing. That's just perfect, huh? T_T

Thanks to puberty, it has been the bane of my existence, and I have been limited to deep voices (Mostly associated with villains) of characters, and can't really create a range for myself. I'm getting brand new recording equipment in February (on my birthday) and am going to make an effort to get back to Amateur voice acting after school and life getting in the way.

However, my lack of range saddens me, and I feel that I just have no choice but to wait it out and wait for my voice to fully mature and develop. I do not do vocal exercises, but I hear from all over the place that they are very helpful. Any guide of any sort on them will be appreciated, although from what I know, they make you look a little silly. XD

I cannot do even the slightest high, or even medium-high voice without it coming out sounding like a mess.

    VAA,what do I do?

I have a few tips. I'm kind of in the same boat you're in. Except I'm not entirely limited in my range.

Sing. Yup. Start learning how to sing. It will help you define tone quality (for me, it's helping with my narrator voice), and it will also teach you how to project. It will also help you get to know your falsetto voice, which also helps with a few higher voices.

To get a few other kinds of higher voices, I "squeeze" my voice. Imagine yourself squeezing your mouth with nothing else but the inside of your mouth. Feel that? Now try and talk at the same time. If you're having problems, keep doing it, and you'll get the feel of it.

As for limitations, go deeper as well. Yup. You want the most range you want out of whatever your voice can do. At least that's what my understanding of your post is.

    Hope that helps.
Confirmed current projects: Pokemon abridged, Order of The Stick Fandub, TeamShippudenSquad's Naruto Shippuden Abridged, Chibuike/CrasherSurge's Bakubridged.

Pending projects: None really, as far as VAing goes.

    I use a Blue Yeti.

Yes, the kind that will, on accident or purpose, rip your arm off and possibly eat it. As for why he's blue? I dipped him in Repulsion Gel. He thought it was very tasty, so he bathed in it. And that is why you never see an actual yeti to this day.
