    M. Knight may have completely lost his way but Uwe Boll never knew anything about how to make a good film.
    A little bit 'o fun.

But he's worked professionally more than once. Obviously, he knows more than us then. That's a fact.

    Edit:

P.S. On topic - As most know, I really don't like the "American Idol-Style" acting competitions. I don't think acting really lends itself to this kind of format (voice acting or otherwise), if it did, you'd have tons of would-be actors on "America's Got Talent" showcasing their skills. It's possible they can make it work, but I have my doubts.

I'll stick with my Top Chef.

But that's the point exactly. Uwe Boll never knew anything, yet he has a lot of experience and continues to get work. So there's nothing to say that this British dude knows anything either based on just that he has a lot of experience.

Going back to why Uwe Boll was brought up at all (admittedly by me) is that just because he has the work experience doesn't mean that he knows more than us (necessarily). The only fact there is that he's worked professionally more than once. Not that he knows what he's doing.

That's a good point, I think. Admittedly, I don't think I've ever heard of anybody going onto a show like America's Got Talent and trying to act (then again, I don't watch reality TV anyway). I guess the only real way to know if this is going to work is to see what kind of format they're going to run this with. If it's something in front of a large crowd and on a stage, I can't really see it working out. If it's something like the person is taken into a booth and instructed to read something that is judged once it's recorded, I could probably see that working.

Yes. I was agreeing with you. :p I was using the other fellows argument of "British guy works so he knows more than anyone here. That's a fact." Format to prove your point. LoL

I don't even see, if they used, lets say, a "Top Chef" formula for the show, where each week there is a challenge that must be met... I don't see it necessarily being good television. Again, I could be proven wrong, but I personally am not seeing it. Then again, I know nothing about it other than. "Reality Competition about voice acting."

I remember there being a video-making competition that didn't survive past the first season. This one will probably share the same fate, especially since voice acting is not something you can go out and tour with after the season's over.

Yeah, that's sort of how I feel. I mean, you can win a boat load of cash, but in acting it's not like you can spend the boat-load of cash on starting your own line (a la Project Runway) or opening your own restaurant (a la Top Chef). You can get a studio, and thats nice, but there are plenty of people with studios that don't end up with a career. At best, it's publicity. /shrug

And TriPred No worries, it was my bad for not using sarcasm tags. lol.
