I'm sorry if a question like this has already been answered, but when I am dubbing something or putting together really anything that needs background music, I usually record that music onto one track, and then add my lines or etc on another. For some reason though, my voice will come out fine, but the music is being recorded either not at all or so low only dogs can hear.

I think it might have something to do with a program that I used to have but now no longer have & for the life of me I can't remember the name. It had different playback effects to simulate environments (normal room, padded room, cave, theater, etc) and a speaker tester that generated a bee buzzing or what they called 'loopy music' I think. I don't remember what else it did but that's all I ever used it for.

If anyone could help me with the first problem if it has nothing to do with the lack of this program I can't name, that would be great. If I don't need it, then I don't mind as much, but if I do I'd love to see if anyone can help me with that as well.

It's just a name, like the Death Zone or the Zone of No Return. All the zones have names like that in the Galaxy of Terror.

Sorry, I'm a little confused; are you still using the program, or do you think it is affecting how you mix with your new program? Are you recording the music or importing it?

Based on what I think is going on, you could just amplify the music track; as for the program name, sorry, I have no idea.

Wait a sec... when you say you record your music... you don't mean through speakers into your microphone do you? Because if you are that's a big no-no. Just import an mp3.

As for a recording program, try Audacity. It's free, and it's a good start up program. Or if you're willing to put down some cash, try Adobe Audition (assuming you're on windows).

Ok thankyou, but I don't even know what I'm asking, if someone could help me delete this thread that would be nice. Thanks for trying to help anyway.
