I am impressed Gonax! This was nicely done. One of your better works.

My friend posted this on Facebook before I saw it here.

Mixing-wise, I thought it was wonderful. I was just slightly off-put by the one line by The3rd23790 ("She's right in front of us" could've used some more "kick", although I don't know the character so maybe he's just too cool to get fierce). Otherwise, I enjoyed it all.

This is probably my most favorite work from you yet Gonax (no not cause I'm in it). From an editing standpoint, it is truly wonderful. Nothing felt really overdone, and the sfx were chosen and placed wisely.

Unfortunately I'm not really familiar with the cast of characters (my own included) so I can't say if they are truly appropriate to what they should be, however I thought the voices matched the character (from a visual standpoint) wonderfully.

I could go through all of the members of the cast, but it would be me saying the same thing over and over again: "A great performance".

I think I could have made a few adjustments, but I think this is one of my prouder achievements. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

    Alright, let's do this.

Phoenix Wright / BossTrigger: I enjoyed your take on Phoenix Wright. Phoenix is a very single-minded individual with justice in his heart, and you conveyed that very well in your tone. I liked your voice for him; taking out your usual growl but maintaining a medium pitch seemed the right way to go. However, I did find a few issues. I can't quite describe it, but your "Objection!" came out a little weird; you went up a little in pitch too, which makes sense when you're yelling, but it's immediately contrasted by your speaking voice, so it sounds kind of out of place. You were also a little flat in your second line (That won't... case). It wasn't bad, but not your best delivery; it could have sounded a tad more urgent. Otherwise, a good performance.

Professor Layton / The3rd23790:While I did like your voice for Professor Layton, I couldn't help but notice that you textured it in a rather odd way. Your tone and delivery throughout was... how can I put it... kind of sexed up, like Crispin Freeman does in a number of his roles. This seems kind of odd and unnecessary, and I think all it does it make Professor Layton sound more smug and deprive him of emotion. An example of this is during the initial courtroom scene, when he points at the defendant and accuses her of being a witch. During the accusation, there was almost no change in your tone, and while adding a lot of drive and yelling might have been too over the top, everything in that moment indicates the need for greater volume; more "oomf". He's calling attention after all. My only other complaint is that a few words here and there came out a little slurred, but I enjoyed the remainder of your deliveries for the most part; if you had just toned down that "sex factor" I think they could have been ideal.

Luke / Aikiku/Jin: There were not enough lines for me to get an accurate sample of your acting, although I can say I found no glaring flaws. enjoyed the pitch, nice tone, nice delivery; very natural sounding. Good job.

Maya / Mirielle: Maya had more dialogue than Luke, but it still wasn't quite enough for me to really get a feel for you. I liked what I heard though. All of Maya's little gasps and sounds were convincing, and you played her character well. Very nice energy. All in all, I think it came together very naturally.

Defendant / Kawaiinyagirldubs: I actually really enjoyed you here. I was impressed by the scream, which can often be difficult to do convincingly, but you pulled off very nicely. You have a dub-worthy voice that worked for this role, and I'd be interested to hear you in something where you have more lines. I did have one problem with your acting though. Your first line in the courtroom scene came off a bit artificially, like you were reading it off a page (Why... such a thing). That's an easy mistake to make when your character's emotions are so understated, so I would suggest doing extra takes of lines like that in the future. Try over-acting first, and then pulling back a little.

Narrator: / Ryusuke: You have a good narrator voice; it sounded very official and immersed me in the trailer. Good tone, good pacing, and good pitch, although your articulation could use a bit of work. You slurred slightly at a few points; not terribly, but slurring is one of a narrator's worst enemies. This is me nitpicking though; don't over-think it. I really liked listening to your deliveries =).

    -----------------------------------------

Script: The script was, in my opinion, awkward. There were some points that came off as very redundant such as the storyteller line, and other lines that were just poorly phrased, Layton's lines in particular:

"There's been a witch terrorizing this town with it's dark and evil magic, and sadly... she's right in front of us."

Sadly threw me off; it's an extremely underwhelming choice where more appropriate words could have been used. Grammatically, this sentence is structured rather oddly. That's not the only one though.

"You must understand Luke. The law is not the most perfect thing in the world sadly."

Ending with an adjective really only works in an afterthought sort of way, otherwise it just sounds strange. The line had more words in it than were necessary
; you could have gone with "The law, sadly, is far from perfect." or something of that nature. Half the length. You can hear The3rd having to hurry through the line when he says it, so shortening it might have been best.

Mixing: I rather enjoyed the mixing. Your audio levels were all beautiful, although the narrator was drowned out slightly at times. The choice of music here was different from the one in the original trailer, but I think it really worked well for the dub, and I congratulate you there. Sound effects were all very natural, and none of them stood out or distracted me in any way. Good job!

All in all, this is a good dub. It has a few hiccups here and there, but they don't ruin it for me, and I enjoyed watching it. Nicely done!

Can't really say much critique-wise because it's already been said, but this trailer was, indeed, enjoyable. kudos.
