Happy Three-Year Anniversary! I can't believe it's been so long since I started this project! We're still going strong, since October 2007! 8D This is a smidge late due to complications but here is a Re-dub of the opening cut scene to Final Fantasy VIII. I picked to do this, because it is my intention to eventually go back and redo the first four or so episodes, but this cut scene in particular includes three characters who were recast in episode 02, and the new VA's have stuck with the project since then, so I figured it was only fair they get to be in the opening cut scene too, gosh darnit! Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!

    FAQ:

Why does Squall start out with 'I'll be here' instead of Rinoa?

    AHHHH YES <3
I remember I watched this opening millions of times when I was little XD I would make up their voices and for some reason I always started off with Squall speaking as well~ though I didn't know the plot until later on : 3
Ah~ this brings back sweet memories.

I don't need to mention that this is beautifully mixed and that all the cast did a wonderful job <3
    Keep up the amazing work!!

UGH. THANK YOU for explaining that common misconception. A lot of people have it wrong.

In any case I quite liked this. I have issues with the fight scene though. Mainly for the fact that everything was off-sync. Though it could just be me. *goes to check the YouTube link to be sure* Okay, the off-sync issue was in the Vimeo version. But again, it could just be me. Another thing is that when Seifer casts Facepalm Firaga at Squall, I thought Rupertt could've sounded a lot more wounded/hurt, since he was kinda pushed back. Same goes for when Squall takes a sword to the face.

@Ichigo: D'aw, why thank you. 8'D And I totally agree with you on everything in that spoiler tag.

@McTricky: AHA I know! SO many people are just like YOU'RE SO STUPID YOU MIXED UP THE LINES. And I'm just. D: No I didn't... ; - ; Ooo, gosh, is the VIMEO really out of sync? I'll have to check, though the file is exactly the same as the youtube one so I don't know why it would be. I nearly like, died of a heart attack when you said it was because I must've watched it at least ten times before uploading and a handful more once it was up. I'm glad the youtube one isn't out of sync though! Also thank you for the comments on the wounding/hurt, I will keep that in mind for the future. 8D Thank you so much for commenting and I'm glad you enjoyed it! <3

Shudo this turned out so pretty! /drooling over wonderful music/graphics/dialogue combo. So. Epic. :3

This is probably my totally crummy laptop speakers talking and I'll have to go back and listen with the Really Good Headphones just to make sure, but my one nitpick was that the fighting voices when Seipher and Squall were fighting struck me as a tad loud against the music. But again, knowing you. It's probably the speakers. Why am I even bothering XD

Absolutely epic. I'm really looking forward to the redub of the first few episodes.

Aww thank you so much for the wonderful comment/critique Tara! 8D I listened to the opening without headsets and I did not like how it sounded at all (this was before I uploaded it) so I definitely recommend using Good Headphones when you get the chance. My hearing isn't perfect so what sounds level to me might not actually be completely level, but I couldn't hear anything personally with headphones. ( I will definitely give it another listen when I'm not up to my neck in Skip Beat mixing to make sure, though! )

BUT REGARDLESS LET ME KNOW IF IT'S STILL TOO LOUD WITH THE HEAD PHONES, whenever you do listen with them. Either way I will totally note it. 8D <3 And thank you again for commenting! ^o^
