Fake Tatoo Suggestions

Yo! It's been a while, but I find I never post here in exception for when I'm squatting for resources (no offense; I just don't get around on the net these days).

ANYWAY I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for fake tatoos. I've a friend who's gonna be going to try to do some Renji cosplay and he's looking at doing the full body tatoos.

I got drafted to help him out. Any suggestions on materials for stencils and possibly body spray paints etc? (What's the best way??).

For Renji's tattoos, you may have to freehand them as best you can. As for what kind of paint, there's always plain old body paint which owuld probably work the best for this imo.

So a stencil system isn't recommended? I could freehand them but that's still doesn't really satisfy the quality of my friend. He wants them rather perfect. Is there such thing as a body spray paint?

I'm not completely sure. You could always ask the people on cosplay.com since they would probably be able to give you more help since it's a cosplay-focused forum.

liquid latex or freehand with liquid eyeliner/costume paint and set it with hairspray (Kitsunesqueak was talking about that to me earlier with her Sebastian tattoo on her hand for Kuroshitsuji)...

In the end, you're gonna end up having to free hand it on yourself.

Kitsunesqueak was also looking for the possibility of temporary tattoo paper for the tattoo she needed for cosplay, but she said she didn't have any luck finding any. If you have better luck than her, you can always use that and make a temporary tattoo. And if you find the paper let me know where you found it so I can pass off that info to her ^^;;

I wonder if I could try just Bsing the stencils myself. And sounds good! I didn't think of liquid latex. Thanks for the help.

In the end, whether you use a stencil or liquid latex, it's gonna have to be done free-hand. But it is doable. I'd also suggest when painting it on, as a friend to help you 'cause it's easier to make something like a tattoo on yourself come out more accurately when someone is helping you rather than just looking in a mirror and doing it yourself (mirrors can be very misleading <---knows from experience)

I've had friends try to paint wounds and stuff on themselves. They said the "mirror" is not your friend when it comes to body paint. Anyway thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it!

Actually, I took a look at Renji's tattoos and I'm wondering if the paper would be enough to efficiently do the body tattoos...

For Renji's tattoos I'd probably just use body paint, since that's what my friend did for Kamina and it worked out really well on her part. But you'd have to get a friend to help you. Actually, you'd have to get a friend even if you used temp tattoos since it'd be hard to reach some areas. xD

You COULD make your own stencils by printing out the designs and yeah, which would work even without spray body paint, which I'm not sure exists anyway. xD
