Fruits Basket Radio Drama
I’m doing a radio drama version of Fruits Basket, based off of the story by Natsuki Takaya. The story will mostly follow the outline in the manga, which deviates from the anime. I am looking for specific characters, and you need to be available long term for this project, especially if cast for a main or somewhat main character as I intend to produce all 136 chapters to finish the story to its end.
This project is rated PG for language and violence
Casting will continue until I find the voices I'm looking for.

Kyo Sohma - male (16-18 years old) Cat of the zodiac, quick tempered, competitive, impulsive and potentially rude. He also has a soft side he doesn't like to show. Gets embarrassed quickly and is overprotective of those he loves. (tenor preferred)
(If you are cast for this role, you will be coming in on Episode Four, which coincides with chapter four of the manga.)
Line # 1 - (challenging) I will defeat you, then become an official member of the twelve zodiacs!
Line # 2 - (dejectedly) I want to leave this place. I always say the wrong things to her.... It's impossible. I"m just not suited to living with other people.
Line # 3 - (angrily) Why are you all calling me a cat addict!?! You guys think I'm an idiot?!?

Kureno Sohma - male (mid twenties) Rooster of the zodiac, quiet and good tempered, somewhat naive and innocent, similar personality to Tohru Honda. Fiercely loyal.
Line # 1 - (After having run into Arisa) I haven't taken a break in a long time. But I don't have anything to do. I feel embarrassed. Next to you, I'm really pathetic. That time at the convenience store was actually my first!
Line # 2 - Arisa! Please wait! PLease calm down. All right? Don't cry. I'm sorry. I spoke without thinking just now. I'm really as happy as you are that you chased after me. I, too, really wanted to see you.

Kakeru Manabe - male (high school age) vice-president of student council, very laid back and cheerful, always looking for a laugh. friendly
Line # 1 - alright! let's all be nice and have fun! before that, we have to make sure we can actually do our work or there's no meaning to all of this.
Line # 2 - Long time no see Yun-yun! how was your summer break!? Didyou really enjoy it? Me, I really took advantage and enjoyed it fully!! went on ltos of dates! Summer's the best. It'd be great if life was nothing but summer holidays! Ah, but why does shcool have to start again, eh? talk about a bother.

Machi Kuragi - female (sounding mid teens/high school) Treasurer under Yuki in student council; very quiet with destructive tendencies, unsure of herself.
line # 1 - What is this? a paper Mogeta? I'm so happy. I must treasure it. I can't lose it.
line # 2 - I forgot to thank him. Uh... what kind of thing would Yuki like?
line # 3 - I realize that I'm sticking my nose into other people's business but, knowing that a person like the president is here in this world. It makes me so happy. I wanted to give her my thanks for protecting her. After all, if for example, the president really was as weak as a baby deer, it's because you were like that that you noticed someone like me and talked to me, I think. I'm really so very happy that you're here.

I will not be offering critiques of your auditions unless I plan on casting you in the role. I will let you know via email if you are chosen for any role.
Please remember, supporting and any main characters are considered to be a long term role and you need to be able to work on this project long term if you plan on auditioning for them.
Other roles may become available throughout the project so keeps tabs if you are interested in playing other roles further down the road.
