Thanks to CalmProto for this one.

Have you ever take an acting class? Any acting at all, not limited to just a voice class. If so, how did it help you?

I took a drama class in grade 7 . . . and failed (because I was too self conscious and wouldn't participate).

So basically, I've been doing this as a hobby for about a year now with zero training. I'm sure it's kept me from getting roles.

I think you HAVE to have some acting classes/background behind you if you want to take voice acting seriously.
Check one-two on the microphone . . . samples are HERE.

I've been taking classes sporadically throughout my life. My most recent was two acting classes and two voice classes back at Columbia.

I learned a lot about breath control and performing from my diaphragm.

Need a solid voice actor to fill that role you just can't seem to cast? I'm your Final Fantasy!

I took a theater class in high school, despite my stage fright. It was terrifying, but I got through it. I was in the school musical that year too. It was all a really good experience, though I still show signs of stage fright often.

I've taken a theatre arts class in high school though I really doubt that counts for me since it wasn't tailored to acting by any means, very little acting was done in it at all. Other than that I've never taken any other classes and I don't really have any kind of acting background prior to VA stuff. I've taken choir my entire life though and I still fail at singing. XD

    Edit: I'd love to take a class or workshop in the future, but there's never really anything in my area. D;

I auditioned for our school's intermediate theatre class for my senior year of high school and I got in. It definitely taught me stronger vocal projection and just opening up in general to things and characters. And I had sooo much fun when the musical portion came along - I really feel because of that exposure, I'm more into well, everything LOL.

I loved singing the Sweeney Todd/Oklahoma songs for our showcase. Oh myyy.

I just got done with 4 years of Theater classes! 8D I also took a voiceover class at school. They've helped a lot, I'm sure...comparing what I've done in the past to now.
Voice classes, acting classes, text analysis, and directing classes all work together to improve skill overall and help one be more well-rounded. So don't just take one; take them all, if there's an opportunity.

No, but I must, especially if I want to do some theatre to confront some fears.

Well, there was this one class, but it was just a class on showing me how to be an extra
If you're gonna break the rules, be brilliant...otherwise don't break the rules

    I've got a bachelor's degree in it.
Probably the best decision I ever made.
