Hello everyone, my name is Michal Turcar.
I am currently working on a machinima project with a friend called Dragon Age: Legend of Adriyel. As the name suggests, it is based on the Dragon Age world but it is our own story.
The story revolves around a main character called Alex. He is tasked with finding a rare artifact for a certain organization. This organization already contacted his father but he'd gone missing while searching for the artifact.
Now it's Alex's job to find the artifact and what's left of his father.
It is supposed to be a series about 8 episodes long(each around 8-10 minutes, think Warden's Fall).
Deadline: For this casting I suggest 3 weeks should be enough. If, of course, it isn't, tell me and I will make it longer(if it's allowed). This is, after all, my first casting here so be merciful.
Recording and Contact information:
It would be best if the files were recorded in wav format, 16-bit, mono, 24 000 Hz. But I could change the format and other things myself if it's really necessary.
For naming I suggest going like this: nameofcharacter_yourname/nickname_linenumber

Characters:
For now, I am looking to cast 3 roles. I will update this thread when I will have lines ready for other characters.
Males:
Name: Edward
Age: 30s - 60s
Bio: A treasure-hunter, doesn't spend much time with his son Alex(main character) - this is the source of their bad relationship. His wife, Sarah, is mad about him being away on the hunts.
Generally he is a calm and rational man.
Voice type: He has a deep but soothing voice(kind of like Lance Henriksen). As stated above, he is very calm.
This is one of the more important roles in the story.
As I only have one dialogue for Edward, which is also a fight between his wife(Sarah), I will post it below the Characters description. This dialogue will serve for both Sarah and Edward.
Name: Saunders
Age: 20s - 30s
Bio: A mage, very sarcastic character. He joins Alex on his search for the artifact after Alex saves him from a band of Darkspawn. He is one of the major roles.
Voice type: I am not really determined as to what he should sound like. Though I guess it should be some smooth young voice.
I will post a whole dialogue here too but I will highlight only the lines that are spoken by Saunders. I think it's more helpful when you can see the whole dialogue.
S: (out of breath, relieved) Thank you! If it weren't for you I'd probably be dead. line #1
A: Well you WOULD be. How’d you get into this mess anyway?
S: (emphasis on *accidently*, he is not telling the truth) Maybe they had a camp nearby and I ACCIDENTLY stumbled upon it. line #2
A: Accidently?
S: (now he's being honest) Well, maybe I wanted to see darkspawn for myself and study them a bit. line #3
A: Are you out of your mind?!
S: (serious) That depends on point of view. line #4
T: I think we should go.
S: Woah, woah, woah. Wait! You look skilled, maybe I could go with you? line #5
A: We could use a mage.
T: I suppose.
A: All right, you can come with us. I'm Alex by the way.
T: Tara.
S: Saunders. line #6
Females:
Name: Sarah
Age: 30s - 50s
Bio: Edward's wife. She is very protective of her son and she is very angry with Edward neglecting Alex. This is a minor role.
Voice type: No special request
Here is the dialogue for Edward and Sarah:
S: (she is upset, screaming) You are completely useless!
E: (he is calm, a bit concerned) How can you say that? Did you live a bad life?
S: No, but you shouldn't always put work ahead of your own son!
E: (trying to justify his actions, a hint of guilt in voice) I don't put it ahead, but I have to provide for you somehow.
S: (now she has calmed down a bit and is really just sad/upset) Only Andraste knows what you really do. You never even explained it to me. Sometimes you are just gone for a month!
E: I am really not in the mood for a fight. When you calm down, let me know.

I am also open to suggestion regarding the lines - English is not my first language, you might have a better insight on how the sentence should look like etc.
