Another random clip here! Over a year ago, after casting my AC project, I contacted Blue Shadow and asked him if he wanted to do some Crisis Core clips with me, since he's my Zack and the character doesn't get that much screen time in the movie. That was originally for the Date Scene, but something happened that I no longer remember and I never finished it.

So! I recently contacted him again and boom! Here's an extra clip, a couple more will be following at a later date. Please enjoy and keep in mind we're not trying to sound like the official VA's, these are our interpretations. Thank you!

I always loved this scene from Crisis Core because it sets up Aerith's job as a flower vendor so well. The voice acting was great from all three cast members, but that's basically expected at this point from Dolly Kissu clips, haha! Shudo, your Aerith is well realized and full of life, and Blue Shadow's Zack is right on the money with that voice and acting. I wish we could have had more Dragonknighttara, but alas!

Mixing-wise, it feels transparent, which is the point, of course. I can tell you worked hard to get the appropriate voice reverb for the cathedral sequence. It worked out fantastically. Great job.

Okay I've watched this a couple of times now! It was very sweet, but I couldn't help but notice a couple of things.

Shudo//Aerith - You have a very sweet voice for Aerith, but I did notice that you sort of... I can't really explain it, you kinda.. laugh into your lines. Your voice has this shaky timbre to it before you actually say your lines which kind of gives your voice a sort of nervous sound to it. The "Hooray!" sounded.. odd to me. xD I honestly can't explain what I mean. I know you aren't nervous at all as you are a brilliant voice actress, but it's just something that kinda bugs me about some of your lines. Nervous is the only way I can describe it. Just the way you kind of giggle into your lines. It sounds fine when it comes to certain lines, but when it's in nearly all of them, it sounds too repetitive and it's just sort of... like a trait which tells people that it's Shudo. I hope I don't sound mean here. D: Because I really did love this clip! It's just that one little thing that got to me really. But other than that, it was very, very sweet. :3

BlueShadow//Zack - I thought you sounded great as Zack! Perhaps a bit more energy could be needed here and there for a couple of lines, but it was nothing too major! I think your voice suited him fine.

Zack's Mother//tara - Nothing much really to critique on! I just love your voice and loved it here too!

The mixing was flawless as always. <3

@TonberryKing: Thank you so much for the comment, I really appreicate it! 8D Aha, yeah the mixing in this is really simple and I wasn't sure how the reverb would turn out, but it didn't sound right without one, I'm glad it paid off though! I'm very glad you enjoyed the clip as well!

@Cydonia: Thank you so much for the critique, I really appreciate it and your honesty! I actually know what you're talking about, some of the lines came out really awkward when I spoke them straight, so I added that to give them a bit more bounce if that makes sense. (I didn't want to fall into the trap of making her sound too emotionless) As well as in a couple places to match lip flaps since I didn't realize my footage was tailored to the japanese words rather than the english until I was mixing and I had to switch up the script more than I had originally planned on.

However I definitely didn't intend for her to sound nervous, I'll keep a better eye on that in the future, so thank you for pointing it out! I'm also glad you enjoyed the clip, thank you so much for commenting! 8D

Shudo - Haha, yes, I've actually mentioned Shudo's giggle effect before, but the only other character I've ever heard you do it with is in Pretear. It does have the effect you're going for, but the reason it sometimes gets distracting is the consistency in which it's done. One of the BEST roles I've ever heard you in was in your Valentine's day special (forgive me I forgot the anime). You sounded bouncy and cute without the giggle....... but i digress!!! XD Although I really do like the original English dub, there were quite a few lines which I thought were better delivered by you, particularly "STOP!!!" (or I'll cut you), and the energy behind "I planted some outside my house too." It seemed like Aerith was a bit more her age with you, not to mention your voice fits perfectly.

Me - I had to keep thinking to myself "Don't copy Rick Gomez, DON'T COPY." I hopez I pulled it oooaffs.

DKT - What can I say, you're good in everything you do~ Yay!

Ugh, I felt ungrateful with your critique, so let me say how FREAKING HAPPY I am that you picked this back up! I've suffered so many Zack projects going down the drain and you came through Shudo, you came through!! T-T Mixing was done very well, and I can't wait for the *whisper* blooper reel.

Aha thank you so much for the comment/critique, Blue Shadow! 8D Yes, I remember you mentioning the giggle thing for Pretear and I have tried to tone it down a bit with that character. (I hope I've succeeded a little bit on that front) Oh! I believe you're talking about Kagura from Fruits Basket, at least I think so. That's the only Valentine's Special that's come out yet. xD But yeah, her voice is a much more middle medium so it's easier for me to evade the giggle. I'm glad you enjoyed the clip as well as my voice for Aerith! It goes without saying but I personally love your Zack, ahaha.

I'm happy I picked this back up too! As always it's good that some of my stuff has been delayed, because this would've been mixed with Windows Movie Maker had I finished it at the time. XD Sad it took me this long to get to this again though. D:
