Thread: Auditions for a Karate Kid Parody

  1. #1 Auditions for a Karate Kid Parody
I'm making a parody of the Karate Kid. Both the original 80's movies and the new one with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. In this parody, it makes of fun that fact that the new Karate Kid movie is based on Kung Fu instead of Karate, and how it should have been called "The Kung Fu Kid." There will also be appearances of characters from both the original movie and the new one, such as Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, etc. This video is nothing against the new Karate kid movie. I saw it, and I thought it was really cool. So, this is just a friendly parody.

    Characters that need VAs:

NOTE: For any of the celebrity characters, it does NOT have to sound exactly like them, but they do need a decent voice for them.

    Name: Jaden Smith
Voice Type: Young Male 11-year-old Kid
Audition Line: I get it! You're Yoda, and I'm like a Jedi.

    Name: Jackie Chan
Voice Type: Strong Chinese Accent Male Voice
Audition Line: The only way to stop them is to fight them. I will teach you real Kung Fu.
Video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jffSNgBC2g&"]YouTube- Jackie Chan Interview: The Karate Kid[/ame]

    Name: Will Smith
    Voice Type: Adult Male Voice
Audition Line: You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good.
Video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5pekf5M4fU"]YouTube- Will Smith Interview: The Karate Kid[/ame]

    Name: Ghost of Pat Morita
Voice Type: Japanese or Chinese Accent Male Voice

NOTE: Mr. Morita has passed away back in 2005. So, I brought him back as a ghost. But he does talk the same way as he would if he was alive.

    Name: Ralph Macchio
Voice Type: Male Adult Voice Type (He is going to show up as he looks today)
Audition Line1: Hey, you two! Knock it off!
Audition Line2: Look. you guys shouldn't be fighting over Hollywood greed.
Video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAtd2r49wFw"]YouTube- Wax On, F*ck Off with Ralph Macchio[/ame]

    Name: Ghost of Gary Coleman
    Voice Type: High-pitched Adult Voice
Audition Line: Wha'choo talking about, Willis?
NOTE: This is a small role. He only has like four lines in this video. This one scene that he is in is a tribute to the late Gary Coleman. I know it seems random to put Gary Coleman in a Karate Kid parody, but if I'm going to have to Ghost of Pat Morita, I might as well have a very short appearance from Gary Coleman's ghost as well.
Video: I couldn't find a video of him being an adult saying " Wha'choo talking about, Willis?" But this video is pretty funny, and a good example of his adult voice.

(If you want to be a part of this project, but you don't or you can't do any of the celebrity voices, you can choose some of these characters. These characters have no original voice, and are completely originally made.)

    Name: Kid in Line
Voice Type: Young Male kid Voice
Audition Line: Oh my god. I can't wait to see this movie. I was pumped up to see this movie ever since I saw the trailer.

    Name: Stranger on Plane
    Voice Type: Adult Male Voice
Audition Line: Dude, I'm from Detroit.

    Name: Car Owner
    Voice Type: Adult Male Voice
Audition Line: Hey kid, what are you doing?

Name: A Singer Of "You're the Best, Around" Parody
Voice Type: A Singing Male Voice
Audition Line: (Sing a Brief Part of the Original Song)
NOTE: I wrote a parody of that song. The lyrics are already done. If you get the part, I will send you the new parody lyrics along with an instrumental version of "You're The Best, Around." The instrumental that I have isn't the best version of it. If you have your own and it's better, please use that one.
