This is my first demo reel, so be gentle. I figured that I've been here for several months, so it's about time that I get some sort of demo out. My strength tends to be my range, so hopefully I showed that off to good effect here. Just click the Box.net link below and I hope you enjoy!

    01. Camp Counsellor telling horror stories // Grandia III - "Tension IV: Emelious' Theme"
    02. Christmas Surprise Kid // Trinity Blood - "Merry Moment"
    03. Coy Femme Fatale // Bleach - "La Distancia Para Un Duelo"
    04. Sword-Lending Hero // Trinity Blood - "Resolution"
    05. Lenneth Valkyrie // Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria - "Motion of a Finishing Blow"
    06. Heartbroken Girl // Trinity Blood - "Tenderness"
    07. Steroid Junkie // Trinity Blood - "Tactics"
    08. Ice Cream Shop Girl // Loveless - "Comedies: Yuiko's Theme"
    09. Gay Hustler // Touhou - "Bad Apple"
    10. Alfina de Pamella // Grandia III - "Requiem for a Birth"
    11. The Wonder Twins // ---none---
    12. Sorceress Edea Kramer // Final Fantasy VIII - "Sucession of Witches"

All the mixing was done by myself. Sound effects are from my own personal library and various freeplay websites (mostly Freesound.org).

I would appreciate constructive criticism if you have the chance. Thanks for listening!

    Your voice wasn't lesbian enough

lol well nice demo Noah everything had good emotion
if you keep practicing on your low voice it may come naturally like your girl voices

since it did kinda sound force

    but still awesome demo

What!? Lenneth Valkyrie doesn't have that lesbian flanel sound? :/

Thanks. I should have probably gone with something a bit higher up for the first voice until I can manage something that low more comfortably. It sort of depends on the day with that voice. Thanks for listening

~Camp Counsellor telling horror stories -- This one made me laugh, but thats only because horror is appealing to me. Although to me it seemed like it was kind of pushed. I don't know maybe its just me...
~Christmas Surprise Kid -- I don't even know XDD Wow it was really good but man its just...awkward taken out of context.
~Coy Femme Fatale -- I'm pretty sure you already know what I think of this line =P
~Sword-Lending Hero -- This was an amazing line. I don't know what else to say really.
~Lenneth Valkyrie -- Good emotion and since it was a yelling line and it didn't have any pops or over the top pitches it was really nice to listen to.
    ~Heartbroken Girl -- Jeez you're better at voice acting a heartbroken girl than I am >_> /jealous.
~Steroid Junkie -- At first I couldn't tell it was a steroid junkie and thought it could have been any type of drug junkie (excluding weed because I hang out with them and know how they act sadly.) but the second time through listening I realized that steroids make you stronger, so it turned out to be a good line (:
~Ice Cream Shop Girl -- My exact words were "Aww Its so adorable." Nuff' said
~Gay Hustler -- This line seemed really unemotional. I know Gay guys have a bit of emotion. And I'm guessing a gay hustler would have a little bit more emotion to get a guys attention.
~Alfina de Pamella -- This line had like stunning emotion especially since it was a crying line (:
~The Wonder Twins -- Whenever I heard this line I imagined something like Sailor Moon style, but I know that its completely different series. Overall it was a nice and smooth line.
~Sorceress Edea Kramer -- I don't even know what to say XDD Its a awesome line but I have like so little brain power right now.

Overall Tonberry your demo reel had a nice range especially for you voice and I enjoyed listening to it~ Keep up the good work. (:

Have you ever seen Junjou Romantica? They have no emotions.

So many woman voices. You do them really well. I was a little freaked out there, ahaha!

Hehe, yeah, most people sort of do a double-take whenever I use them. I'm glad they sound fairly believable.

Thanks for the breakdown, CrossFire. It gives me a good idea of what to work on in general. And yes, I know what you mean for the Femme Fatale XD But we can't tell Alvin! Shhh.

    Wow...

    Honestly, wow!

I'm absolutely and utterly floored by your female range. I think it's still coming along, but man that is so good coming from a guy! XD

I would have to say your lower range could probably be a bit improved mostly regarding enunciation and making sure all your words are coming out clear and easy to understand. I think your voice commitment on most of the male characters was not as strong either - tone and characterization kind of varied throughout, though your "young hero" was the best male voice for me.

Edea and Lenneth were probably my favorites here and you really had great emotion and delivery on those.

Your mic quality is a little hollow though and it really shows. I'm not sure if its the room you're recording in or the mic, but that's something to watch out for.

Regardless, I definitely have you down for future reference. Some really good stuff here - keep it up!

Haha, surprise seems to be the most common reaction. I am definitely planning to put stronger focus on my male voices for my next demo reel, whenever that is (probably winter). I think the main reason that my female voices were the stronger presentation is that a majority of them are taken or similar to roles that I've done or auditioned for while most of my male voices here aren't. But I've got a few good ones in mind for next time that have some distinctive qualities to them that will hopefully rival the females.

As for my mic quality, it's not exactly a bad one XD It's a Samson C03U. It may be the room that I record in, I'll have to do some experimentation in other rooms. All of the voices were unaltered except the intro, which had bass removed to make it more radio-like, and Edea had a minor reverb added because the speech is done through loudspeakers in the game. Of course, those are the bookends of the reel, so that may play into the sound that people remember afterward. I'll have to be careful of that in the future.

Anyway, thanks for listening and the great feedback.
