    Hello voice acting talent!

I need your help. I am writing a webserial currently found here. I need voice talents for the main characters found here. There are minor roles also needed for characters not yet introduced in the story (4 more so far). I am writing the script here.
I am currently taking auditions for two characters:
John Coffey and Fredrick Fleet. Reading the published story should help with the characters background information.

Story Synopsis: Isaac Chavez (Zac) just turned eighteen, maybe. He was born on February 29th of the year 2058, a leap day in a non-leap year. How did this happen, how is he here and where does he belong? Searching for answers, a sense of purpose and a place to fit in, he joins History Corp.

Each Weekend, the History Corporation sponsors a MMOEHS (Massive Multi-participant Off Earth Historical Simulation) for the brightest young men and women from around the globe. Tach-Tech Museum, a space station tethered to the earth and accessible only via space elevators, provides the platform for the Historical Simulation.

When a routine Simulation ends in disaster, Zac finds himself alone, his friends lost somewhere in time! Searching the “Inter-web”, Zac discovers clues that he hopes will lead him not only to his friends but to answers about his origins. Using a combination of old and new technologies he’ll journey through the annals of time, into history’s great unknown, hoping to save his friends and find himself.

    Deadline is: July 1, 2010

I will try to respond to your auditions within 24 hours of receiving them and post the usernames of those auditioning on this thread.
Note: I may put your audition on the webserial's site and allow my readers to vote for the best talent. If anyone has any ideas on how to do this (i.e. Wordpress plugin or widget) please let me know.

    Thanks,

Feel free to use any of these lines for your auditions:

    FLEET (THOUGHTFUL)

    I remember what I haven't done.

    COFFEY (SMILING)

Oh, what was that? Buttoning both buttons?

    FLEET (SERIOUSLY)

No, not one thing in particular. Just all sorts of things, I guess.

    COFFEY

Been forgetting to do your duty lately, haven't you?

    FLEET

    Perhaps, but this is different.

    COFFEY

    How do you mean?

    FLEET

I remember things I've done. Simple things really, like shaving my beard or trimming my mustache.

    COFFEY

    Yes, go on.

    Arranges blankets

    FLEET

Then I look in the mirror and I haven't done either.

    COFFEY

Sounds to me like you're not remembering at all. Perhaps you are just forgetting to do the things you usually do?

    FLEET

Yes, well I too thought that - at first. These things I was remembering doing, I had done many times before.

    COFFEY

That's right. You shave and trim your mustache all the time. You must have been remembering a prior occasion.

    FLEET

Exactly! That was my line of reasoning as well.

    COFFEY (RELIVED)

    Ah, good.

    FLEET

    But it didn't end there.

    COFFEY (SIGHS)

No, no I guess it wouldn't, would it?

Lies down with hands behind head.

    FLEET

So do you know what I did?

    COFFEY

Well, no - but that doesn't mean I'm the one forgetting things.

    FLEET

Yes, well, it seems I'm not forgetting things either. Not entirely anyway.

    COFFEY (SLIGHTLY IRRITATED)

How is that possible? How can you remember something if you didn't do it?

    FLEET

Yes, I see your point. And, I knew you were going to ask that.

    COFFEY

Ah-ha! So, you remember me asking that?

    Sits up quickly.

    FLEET

No, I remember what I haven't done. I don't remember what you do. It was just a figure of speech.

    COFFEY

    Yes, I know.

    Lies back down.

To give ya'll an idea of the tone of the audio drama I'm producing, here is a link: Timekeepers Act 1 Scene 1 Part 1
Check it out. I'm looking forward to hearing your voices instead of my modified one

Here are a couple of lines for each character that I would really like to hear someone do:

Fredrick FLEET = 20 year old, athletic yet scholarly. Deepish American voice, doing an English accent, perhaps?

    1- FLEET (THOUGHTFUL)

    I remember what I haven't done.

    2- FLEET (SERIOUSLY)

No, not one thing in particular. Just all sorts of things, I guess.
    ***

John COFFEY = 18 year old, fun-loving, yet a deep thinker. Average to high American voice, doing an English accent, perhaps?

    1 - COFFEY

Sounds to me like you're not remembering at all. Perhaps you are just forgetting to do the things you usually do?

    2 - COFFEY

That's right. You shave and trim your mustache all the time. You must have been remembering a prior occasion.

    3 - COFFEY (SLIGHTLY IRRITATED)

How is that possible? How can you remember something if you didn't do it?

Thank you, “atis”, for offering your voice in the roles of Fredrick FLEET and John COFFEY.
I understand that the dialog in this scene is a bit challenging. That’s the intent. I want to create a fast moving, sort of confusing conversation that sets the stage for the possible disorienting effect time travel would have on a person.
Later scripts will have a lighter easier flow to them. You might have noticed that in the story written here.
If you are selected, you will be asked to record each line at least three times. When selected, you may find it easier to read the script found here, in its entirety, possibly reading both parts to get the flow of the conversation.

There is still time left to audition!

Auditions end July 1st at Midnight ET
