You can play as regular old Mario, Megaman, Zelda, Simon, Samus, or Bill from Contra as you play the original Super Mario Bros. Pretty cool stuff. It's hard to play as Link though, but I like how they balanced things, and the song selection too.

A friend linked to this on Facebook today and I loved it. The music was the best touch, like how playing as Samus on underworld levels causes the music to change to the Kraid Theme.
MegaMan and Bill are my favorites.

I got to the castle in world 5 as Mega Man, but this game is really friggin' hard! x.x I can only continue so many times until I feel like I should go do something else...

It's interesting that the other characters' weapons aren't as effective as Mario's way of trekking through stages. So far I'm at the end of world 5 with everyone but Mario powered up. Seems like I can't pass without someone getting hurt. Blargh.

Just beat it as Samus. I started with Ryu, but for some reason I just love Samus in this.
