First production done, you deserve a party. <3 Congrats~

When ConVito, you, and I were in the same scene, I had an Eternal Genesis confusion XD

Otto Octavius :: TheCheetoBandito: A real standout performance here. You really fit that crazy-doctor type character extremely well! No real problems except that you sounded soft against the louder SFX. You ended the chapter epically. ;D

    Gwen Stacy :: Sera Phia: I think I could've done better, but this is a different character than usual. ^^;

Peter Parker :: TriPredRavage: The voice was different than I expected, but overall very good! Some lines came off a bit awkward, like "This is very interesting." But still, great overall~

Harry Osborn :: ConVito: Again, playing the hero's best friend? I've got no problems with the voice, nor the emotion I've heard so far. Great job!

Flash Thompson :: UndeadUser: Not many lines, but I liked your voice for the character. Totally jock-I'm-better-than-you fitting. ;D

Curt Conners :: T-Mobile (Non-Internet Alias): For someone who isn't around the VAA, you've got real nice voice to listen to. Just a bit stiff on delivery and emotion. It'd be interesting to hear more from you!

Thorkel :: McTricky: McTricky, you are the dumbest administrator we've ever had. I liked this character you had, and you did sound very much like a stiff administrator, if not a tad young. Again, some enunciation problems here and there, but I didn't notice it as much as before.

Mixing: Your first attempt at mixing > My first attempt at mixing. The SFX were nicely chosen (especially the rolling ball near the end), but the quality wasn't that great -- Sounddogs doesn't have amazing SFX quality, despite their diversity (I learned that the hard way). You're better off going to freesound or poking around the VAA SFX Library. There were some volume issues here and there, mostly when Octavius' experiment went on fire. Also, you could do with some ambience in the background to give the sound more depth (some classroom or fan ambience with low-end sweeteners really help).

As for story-wise, it confused me a bit when it kept going from Octavius, then back to Gwen and Peter, and so on. I think some ambience fading in and out to change POV would help a listener understand that they're going back and forth.

Other than that, it was really entertaining to listen to! It's a great first shot, and you came so much closer than I did. Hope you get a good grade~

Excellent job with this production. ^^ School + VAA is always a wonderful combinataion.

Like what sera phia said, the only bit that confused me was the transition from scene to scene, other than that, it was fine. Maybe a bit more ambience.

Hm… now I will never look/listen to the word “Okie dokie” the same way again…haha. Good job TheCheetoBandito…you officially scare me. I meant the portrayal...which is good. Haha. I think the cast did a magnificent job, the mixing was pretty good, and I wish you the best of luck sir.

Otto Octavius :: TheCheetoBandito - Okie dokie! I'm not sure if this was what you were going for, but you made him seem hilariously eccentric in this. If that was your intent, great job. If not, great job anyway.

Gwen Stacy :: Sera Phia - I concur with what you said, it's like an EG reunion lol. It's cool hearing you play a "sexy" type character after hearing you as Amalia so much. You got the breathiness in the voice just right without being over the top. Basically, you made Gwen a character that the listener can take seriously. Nice.

Peter Parker :: TriPredRavage - It sounds like you're kind of holding back sometimes, which is understandable considering the character and how you're trying to make him sound weak. Honestly though, it was good. I probably wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't heard your voice before.

Harry Osborn :: ConVito - I love these types of roles. Any time where I can show off my medium range is fun for me.

Flash Thompson :: UndeadUser - You really sound like a douchebag. A job well done lol.

Curt Conners :: T-Mobile (Non-Internet Alias) - Doubt you'll be reading this. But anyway, your part could have used a little more emotion at parts. But otherwise, the tone was fitting and the acting was generally spot on.

Thorkel :: McTricky - I can finally recognize your voice without looking at the castlist! Very well done. I have no idea who Thorkel is, so I'm not sure how the character's supposed to sound. But for the sake of the story, you fit in nicely and definitely added something good to the whole shindig.

Mixing :: TriPredRavage - I'd recommend using some other sites in the VAA SFX library besides Sounddogs. It's got a good selection, but unless you're willing to pay, the quality is so-so. Also, some more music selections wouldn't hurt. I also have to comment on how it played out. More than once, I really had no idea what was going on. I know you're adapting this from what was originally meant to have visuals, so I know it's difficult. But if you can find any way to explain things a little bit more, that would be great. All in all though, this was very well put together, especially considering this was your first RP.

    Woo! The day has arrived!

Otto Octavius ::TheCheetoBandito – I’m glad you guys seem to like my performance o.o! I was a little concerned with how well I did since this was a very new voice and character type for me and a part of me still thinks I can make it better But if you guys enjoyed it that’s what matters and that makes me happy Okey dokey!

Gwen Stacy :: Sera Phia – Nicely done Miss! I’ve really only heard your Amalia and a couple other small things before, so it was definitely awesome to see you playing a character who’s very confident and clearly knows she’s quite a catch lol.

Peter Parker :: TriPredRavage – I really enjoy how you’re playing out the meek, pre-Spider-Man Peter before the confidence and sense of purpose sets in. I think it’s gonna be a real treat once the character goes through his transformation.

Harry Osborn :: ConVito – As I’m sure it’s been said to you many a time from EG, you play the role of the more confident best friend very well. Keep up the good the work!

Flash Thompson :: UndeadUser – Dude I wish you had a few more lines in this chapter cause from what I heard you fit the part perfectly! I greatly looked forward to hopefully hearing a bit more out of you

Curt Conners :: T-Mobile – Ah my dear friend T-Mobile, wonderful to hear your voice in a production for the first time! You definitely fit the part you were cast as though you could use a little more emotion and I still kind of hear you as young even though you’re supposed to play an older character.

Thorkel :: McTricky – Well done McTricky! The emotion and feeling was all there, though sometimes your enunciation slips and like I said to T-Mobile, you still come across as very young sounding for a school administrator. But still, top notch

Mixing- Great first effort dude, though I do see room for improvement. Since I’ve read the script a couple of times I was aware of when scenes were changing, but it was still rather difficult to tell when a transition occurred. Many of the sound effects were alright but I’m sure there are better quality ones to be found. And lastly, I think the production could do with a lot more music. I think that would bring a lot of energy to the chapter and certainly set the appropriate tone for certain scenes.

  6. #6 Re: Spider-Man: The End of Peter Parker - Chapter 2 - World's Interacting
    Chapter 2 has been released!!

Thank you very much for the comments everybody! I myself will probably do a comment at the completion of the entire project, which really isn't all that far away. A few items of note:

    1. Everyone's prayers have been answered: UndeadUser has more lines in Chapter 2!
    2. Chapter 2 doesn't feature a back and forth narrative like Chapter 1 did, so hopefully, it should be far less confusing than the chapter prior.
    3. I've used FreeSounds this time for SFX as recommended by just about everyone, so SFX quality should be far superior this time around (at least, I think it is).
    4. I understand what everybody is saying about music, but in this chapter, I experimented with music a bit and found I really liked the final product a lot more without any. So, we'll see how that goes over.

That's all for now. Enjoy and Critique, please!

This’ll be a kinda condensed critique since its so soon after the first, so I’ll just focus on the new voices and other stuff! Everyone of course did fantastic!

FeliciaCat :: Felicia Hardy – FeliciaCat, you really caught me by pleasantly awesome surprise. I forgot you were playing this part and didn’t realize it until after I listened to the chapter. You really pulled off Felicia’s sexy sultriness perfectly, and having heard your normal voice before, I can honestly tell you I was wowed. I think you’ve got some serious potential if this is something you decided to take up more often and I hope to get to hear your work again soon

Steven Mane :: J. Jonah Jameson – Dude, stellar Jameson! If anybody’s got the voice, personality and nuances down, you got it. You speak very, very fast, which for other actors could be a bad thing, but you have great diction and clarity and I could understand it all. Keep it up man

Mixing :: Massive improvement my friend! I think getting the sounds from that other site really pulled off, and I will agree with you that a lack of music actually did work quite well for this chapter.

Greetings all! I have already been referenced several times by my non-internet alias of T-Mobile, so I figured it would be prudent to join the VAA and have an actual alias.

First of all, I would like to thank TriPredRavage for including me in this project, it was a very rewarding experience. I would also like to thank the rest of you for your constructive criticism. As a biology student working toward an eventual Ph.D. in molecular genetics and microbiology, I have very little experience using my voice for anything other than giving speeches and curing insomnia (often accomplishing these two tasks simultaneously). Being a true voice actor takes tremendous talent, and I'm just happy to take part in the process from time to time.

At LONG last, Chapter 3 is released. This chapter saw the unfortunate delays of me having to write a speech and a paper for my other classes, and so is released a while later than I would have liked. Unfortunately, Chapter 4 shall also be slightly delayed becuase I'm a dummy who forgot my headphones at home... T_T
