I've never heard Amy Lee's version [I'm really not a fan of her voice, as I find it to be a bit whiny for my tastes], but I have heard Nirvana's version. The first thing that I'm going to nitpick about is that I think you should have turned the background music down a little bit, as, to me, it sounds as if you're battling with it when you try to sing a bit more softly and it's sometimes hard to understand what it is you're singing. I'm listening with headphones, though.

Secondly - I think when you try to do the louder, "Belting" parts, you sound so much better than when you initially started singing the song. Now, I'm not saying you sounded bad when the song started, but when you reached the end of the song, you let yourself go a bit and sang with a little bit more emotion. I can tell that you had a bit more fun with the song at that point. Everything improved - your pitch became better, as did your diction. Don't just save things like that for the ends of songs. Keep it up throughout the whole thing. I know that this song is a bit on the depressing side of things [most of his songs were, let's be honest], but you can maintain that sense of emotion and fun, even when singing softly.

I give this piece of advice a lot, but it sounds like you're singing less with your diaphragm [especially at the beginning] and more with your throat. I know it's hard when you're trying to sing softly like that, but it's possible. When you sing, you should feel the air inflate and deflate from your stomach, rather than the tops of your shoulders.

You have a really nice tone, though and I thought you did a really nice job with the song, there are just some things that I like to nitpick about. Can't wait to hear more from you.

I'm gonna rock your body 'til Canada Day.
