I learned to love drawing hips and thighs. Usually, my favorite parts of the body to draw are faces and legs, but hips and thighs are becoming fun!

(If you look carefully enough, you'll see a development sketch of a character from my Bioshock project on the back~)

More recent stuff~ And yes, somehow, I do typically draw animals better than I draw people. I don't know why.

    look, it's a Mexican Antfish
I think the only way to break an art block is keep art-ing. It's hard...

Will draw the rest of its body eventually~

Still fighting the art block; This time, by asking a bunch of Gaians to make requests and drawing non-stop.

    Lalalalalalalalaaaa~

One sheet filled with @$%& for something I'm developing... I finally got a better outfit for the imp, then found it a pain to get her face back to the way I liked it... Claws is getting more fun to draw now that it's a bit easier settling into a set design. Someone mentioned that the fella looked like a boy, when I planned her to be a chick, so I'm tempted to lean more towards an androgynous design.

That blue imp thing looks so mischievous, and scary. Awesome. I also love the robber guy.

Keep up the awesomeness I say.

I said, "If I can't catch up on recording, I can catch up on writing instead!" That didn't happen and I sketched a lot. There were more head/face sketches, but they were painful to look at.

The closest thing to a group pic that I'll probably ever draw.

    Shading also helps.
Without question. Better understanding of colour/shading will improve your already solid foundation.

Perhaps drawing animal people will help with that?

Funnily enough, some of my character designs are just that.

I can't believe I forgot to upload these! And these were done in October - November, so if the last post looks better, that's why.

Last doodle of the year! I wasn't keeping track, but this was easy/quick to draw...

Definitely gonna try practicing more with a tablet. I tried doodling in Photoshop earlier this week and my lines were REALLY unstable. They were tons more shaky than they were in Tegaki, so that must mean something. Not sure how my lines will turn out when I have to draw these guys in Flash.

As for shading, I'm trying to think about the best and/or most productive way to shade for an animation, thus my kinda fail attempt at "cel shading" some time ago. Got any tips to keep in mind?

Meanwhile, I did a color test to see if certain colors would work with the knight I drew earlier. They kinda did. Now I'm worried about her giving too much of a furry vibe when she's meant to be beautiful, but was never human to begin with...

And I like how I keep fogetting Baihu's gender every time I draw her... Him... It...

To think, I used to draw her(?) like THIS:

So in 2009, I accidentally drew Meg. It was horrible. I was thinking about what Disney characters may or may not have influenced my drawing style, with the curves, angles, and at times, pointy noses. I narrowed it down to Meg from Hercules (since I was HUGE Hercules fan as a kid) and Clopin from Hunchback of Notre Dame ('cause he was a badass and even as a kid I knew he was more awesome than the other characters).

Fail!Clopin can be seen scribbled out, but Meg... She was kinda fun and "easy" to draw. Of course, not a spitting image, but I wasn't exactly struggling with the curves and angles. Drew her face separately since the blank expression in the full body doodle was blah/boring.
