Woohoo! I think this is the most mix-heavy clip I’ve ever made! XD Honestly I’m pretty happy with how this came out. Apologies for the bad quality of the ambience and such… I was able to salvage a better quality video but some of the audio could not be saved because Windows Movie Maker always makes things worse. >8C *shakes fist*

Anyways, please enjoy the clip! (Streaming link taken down; only download available for now)

Hmm you know damaru your miaka didn't turn out half bad like you thought it would. The lines you had at the beginning at where she was in her room were all well and good (nice job on capturing her goofyness). However after that scene your performance became somewhat unbelievable (both her yell and her concerned lines), you got the energy though so just keep at it.

Tamahome- Sounds like he had pretty good battle grunts but his deliveries seemed to lack confidence. Still the voice isn't bad on him.

Hotohori- The energy is there, the battle grunts are there but the voice and performance was a bit off. It's just that he sounded like he was a villain rather than a noble king. The anger portrayed was genuine but watch out on being overly growly with your voice when that occurs.

Nakago- I think the voice fit pretty well, nice and deep and the lack of emotion was appropriate for the character. Only thing I could nitpick at is I think I would've preferred you to be a bit bolder with the line delivery (considering he's a general) but other than that good job.

Amiboshi- Fitting, it's young and cool and the emotions were natural. Not much to say other than good job.

Nuriko- Hmm you know the voice is almost there, it really is. I think your just somewhat stuck between him and ranma but definately not a bad take. The emotion was well conveyed though so good job there.

Tasuki- Also pretty fitting, I would've preferred a slightly more raspy voice but this one wasn't bad.

Chichiri- Pretty good but I think the voice is a little too smooth for chichiri, the pitch is the right choice though.

OH DAMARU, YOU AND YOUR MALE HAREM.

I totally remember this scene from the manga 'cause I never watched the anime. I thought the voices were pretty good, a couple of flat lines, but nothing too big.

The mixing was well done, though a couple of SFX didn't quite fit in my opinion. Otherwise, nice job mixing with WMM. I'm proud of you, Damaru. *______*

Thanks for the critique Hyperknees! Honestly I had NO idea what kind of voice to give Miaka, all I could think of was "annoying" and just went with it. XD But I see your point about the performance - I'll keep that in mind if I ever voice her or a similar character next time (not likely XP).

Thank you LoH! It was a frustrating feat to mix with that thing. ;A; *hugs* On second thought I should have made you the cat~. X3

Fushigi Yuugi?! Man, I didn't think I'd ever see anyone do a clip from that anime. I'm pleasantly surprised since this was the second anime I've watched (I blame my older sister for buying all the video tapes and OVAs. XD). I really like Fushigi Yuugi, so pardon me if I go a little overboard! XP

Damaru as Miaka & Tama- You made a cute kitty! XD Alright, now for Miaka. I thought you did a splendid job as Miaka. The only thing I think you need to work on would be about 3:16 into the clip, when Miaka is thinking to herself that she has to stop both Hotohori and Tamahome. The two of them are in love with her, though Tamahome did forget he did, and she cares deeply for both of them. I didn't feel a lot of concern from the lines you gave, but your overall performance was a great one. Keep at it!

Tripredravage as Tamahome- To be completely honest, the first line you did sounded like you just read it instead of acting. In that scene, Tamahome comes off as sinister since he was brainwashed with the Kodoku poison. I did like your battle lines, though they were soft and Motly's almost completely drowned yours out. All in all, a pretty good job.

Motly Fool as Hotohori- You naturally have a deeper voice range, but for this particular character, I felt your voice did not match. I hate to say this, but I completely agree with hyperknees when he said you sound more like a villain than a noble emperor. A few of your lines sounded a bit awkward to me, but it was a nice performance nontheless.

SakasaJinei as Nuriko- Nuriko is normally portrayed by a woman, since he did masquerade as one for a while, but your voice was a nice yet different rendition to the character. You made Nuriko sound more like a young man than an feminine male, and it was a nice change of pace. I enjoyed your Nuriko, Sakasa. Good job.

Lionfayt as Amiboshi- I really thought your voice matched Amiboshi's very well. I liked it! Now, if only you'd turn in the lines that you owe me... XP

Ovarku as Nakago- To tell you the truth, your voice reminded me of the English dub's Nakago. Not to say I don't like, I really do. I just find it a bit scary how similar it is. XD

CountAbyss as Tasuki- Only a couple of lines, but I thought you matched Tasuki well! Not much to say other than that.

Actorman as Chichiri- Oh boy, my favorite Fushigi Yuugi character. XD I felt your first line didn't sound too natural, since your "y'know" almost sounded like my Moogle's "kupo" in your dubs. That's more of a nitpick if anything. Overall, I liked your Chichiri.

Mixing: I thought a lot of this clip was mixed well. I'm surprised at how small the video size is, but it's fine. I'm surprised you didn't use the actual BGM for it. If you're gonna mix another FY clip, I could link you to the OSTs if you want. I went through hell and back trying toget all the BGM tracks for this anime! XD

Miaka & Tama: TAMA CUTE. I liked the voice on Miaka, that worked nicely and your performance was pretty good overall but the concerned lines were defiantly lacking a bit of well concern. They seemed a bit weaker than the rest. And the mixing sounded great.

Tamahome: Sounded good, though the "Die" shout seemed a bit weak.

Hotohori: I found the voice to be a bit too gruff on him, like Hyperknees said it sounds more like a villian I found the performance pretty good though, emotions were done very well.

Nakago: Voice was nice but yeah there could have been a bit more of a commanding type sound since he was giving an order, and it came off a bit too dull. I also heard a pop on "priestess" watch out for those

Nuriko: Hmm I thought the voice was a bit too male :/ Yeah I know he id one but being that he was thought of as a woman in the beginning I think it should still hold some sense of that. Performance was pretty good though.

Amiboshi, Tasuki, Chichiri: Not much from them, but all of you sounded
pretty good and reminded me some what of the dub actors

Thank you so much Sukisho! The critiques are forming a trend - the lack of concern is especially noted! And I'll be sure to look for and watch your Fushigi Yuugi clip! ;D

Ahh, thanks a bunch for the critique and comment! X3

HOMIGOD I would be SO grateful if you gave me to Fushigi Yuugi OST! I searched up and down for it but couldn't find it, so I had to use other music (don't ask me why there is Spanish matador music, it just fit the scene okay XD). So yes, please PM me or something~! ^-^

Ah, yes I can explain this...I did everything quickly because when Damaru sent me the script, turns out I was 2 days late just to hand 1 line in, so I thought "I only have a small part, i'm not exactly gonna get a proper critique" (yeah, I know, that is a wrong way to look at it), but if I did sound dull, how would I make an emotionless character (like Nakago as an example) seem exciting? I'm just asking.

As for the pop, again, did things too quick, but I was also playing around with Soundbooth....i'm still trying to get the hang of it.

I apologise if I come off as if I am trying to justify myself.
If you're gonna break the rules, be brilliant...otherwise don't break the rules
