    Cast: (in order of appearance)
    Sanosuke: Rashinban
    Yumi: Fairuza
    Soujirou: Kage-Ichihashi
    Kenshin: BloodyHowling

I'd just like to take this time to thank my entire cast for taking part in this fandub. I created this clip because of the dream castlist I had made for Kenshin, and lucky me, for the clip I had selected, I was able to get everyone I had chosen together for this dub. I think it turned out great! I hope everyone enjoys.

Edit: I'd also like to apologize for the poor video quality. I had to get the original source from youtube, and Virtualdub didn't seem to like it too well... ^^; It looks a little better if you don't view it in the reduced size embedded video on this thread and open it up instead.

    >.> It looks like I'm going to have to be the first one to comment. Okay.

Your hard work paid off. It really did. You started this project out a couple of months ago and had to remix the whole thing three times thanks to how faulty Audition 3.0 was with you, but looking at the final product, you can hardly tell how much frustration you went through for it. As always, your scripting and mixing are bloody spot-on. Though you don't need me to tell you that. -snickers-

As for this cast, I'm just honored to be apart of it. Really, I am. Especially since my microphone quality, for the most part, is not really up to par with the others. You picked an amazing dream cast, which is to be expected since this is possibly your absolute favorite series of all time. Even the shameless self-cast as Sanosuke worked out, admittedly, better than I expected.

My regards to BloodyHowling and fairuza for their work in this project. Honestly, there couldn't be two better voice talents for these particular roles. Really nice work you two.

    My final comment is only this: listening to that scream again actually makes my throat hurt. >.>;

Soujiro: You have a great, youthful boy voice! Very good and moving performance. I thought you captured his sadness very well, and that bit with him breaking in the rain was powerful (my favorite part of this fandub!). A few lines could've been carried out with more emotion, intensity, and said a bit more slowly, but overall I think you really got into this character's quiet somberness and determination. The screaming was strong and him falling into madness was convincing, but some of the screeching sounded too feminine. Maybe he could’ve sounded softer and at ease (while still keeping the strain of his injuries) when he was defeated, as well. Still, I'm quite sure it must be hard to maintain boyishness when portraying such amounts of energy! Great performance - you are truly the star of this clip!

Kenshin: Very soft with a feminine touch that’s just right for Kenshin. You enunciated very well and it was very clear. I felt he could’ve sounded a bit more sad and solemn though. I think some lines were acted with a tone that didn’t quite fit his expression or current emotion (like “you’ve got it wrong” was said a little too tauntingly or lightly). I think it would’ve done good to sound more firm and serious with this particular scene, but outside of this you would make a perfect Kenshin. However towards the end the gentleness fit, and I really liked that last chuckle of “Am I?” Good job!

Sanosuke: I thought that this was a very fitting voice! Young and cool, but maybe a little bit too gruff at times. Some of your deliveries could use some work: “You asshole. You’re the one with the nerve.” That line and the one after came out a little strangely; I think it would’ve flowed more smoothly if you hadn’t emphasized the words so much and you slurred slightly, making it difficult to understand sometimes. But it just astounds me how you can say those Japanese names so naturally without breaking a sweat, really impressive! O_O Nice job overall.

Yumi: This is so sexy. XD Your womanly voices are definitely my favorite I’ve heard on the VAA – you ace them like nothing. Your delivery was mature, serious, and strong. Maybe you could’ve sounded more concerned or shocked at some points, but otherwise well done.

Mixing was great, no real problems; sound effects were appropriate and volume levels were just right that balanced the voices and music. I don’t know if it was like this in the original but I thought that the part where Kenshin breaks Soujiro’s sword could’ve been a bit more dramatic-sounding, but otherwise this sounded quite good! I enjoyed this.

Hmm, I've never had an issue with "slurring" my words that much before, but I'll definitely be keeping a closer ear out for it. As for the gruffness, I guess I wanted to keep my version of Sanosuke closer to the original Japanese version - not sure if it was overkill though.

I'm glad you like the levels in the mixing, because I felt I may have actually over-corrected on some of the last minute tweaks But yeah, the original SFX usage for Kenshin was quite underwhelming... believe it or not, the final charge between Soujirou and Kenshin was lacking most of the sounds that I used, and I think the final clash was about the same as what I ended up with, just that I used different SFX.

Ah, Rurouni Kenshin, still my favorite shonen anime. Kudos for the work you guys did on this, it’s pretty damned good. Kage-Ichihashi’s job as Soujirou was particularly impressive. You had to cover a wide range of emotions here – sadness, anger, and even a lack of emotion entirely - and I think you pulled it off quite convincingly. There’s a whole lot of different things going on in Soujirou’s head in this scene, and that was conveyed quite well. The only part that I think you had trouble with was the shrieking when he finally snaps. Your voice did crack a little there, but I can imagine how difficult it must be to maintain a voice like that in such a situation. Very well done.

This... was amazing. Easily the best fandubed anything of Kenshin I've seen in a long while. The cast fit perfectly for the roles, even Sanosuke's 'gruffness' was just fine, and dead on. Soujirou was simply superb, certainly a difficult character to portray in this clip with the myriad of emotions he goes through. Kenshin was absolutely perfect, I haven't heard anyone give him a new spin on his voice before that I actually liked. Not too masculine without being overly feminine either, and Yumi was great as well. =)

Overall, wonderfully done. The mixing and editing was great, the cast was amazing, and I hope we can perhaps see more from the lot of you.

    Thanks for sharing!
