  1. #1 My First Demo-November 30th
To add to my list of firsts, I’ve created a short, simple demo.

Remember, it's my first! I would still like some constructive replies, though.

Pretty good for a first demo. You have a clear voice that is easily understandable. The only problem really is the mic.

    Critique time:

Oh first thing I noticed was the puffing. Make sure that when recording you don't breath into your mic. Record with the microphone off to the side not directly in front of yourself.

As for the recording itself your tone was nice and clear but at times the announceation sounded off. At one point it seemed like you were slightly stumbling and you started slurring your words abit but you gained back your control after a few words.

Also in the recording I hear a jingling. Like a bell or something clinking together. Make sure when you're recording not to wear much jewelry (or none at all) for it sounded like you were wearing like a bracelet with bells on it. The goal of an audition is to capture your voice and nothing else.

Also for the demo something that could help add to the mood and character would be music. Alot of people use music in their demo reels now a days to help convay the emotion they were trying to potray.

    Yayz for critique!

Your narration demo is good, but I heard puffs and background noise.

If you have a headset, then don't use it unless it's of a good quality, but typically, it would be best to use a desktop mic or a USB condenser mic.

I'll be sure to fix it (buy one, I mean).

I like it. As every one's been saying, there are indeed a number of puffs and hisses, but if you try using CoolEdit/Audition or another sound editing program, you'll find that a lot of those extraneous sounds can be eliminated without spending more money on additional recording equipment.

But if you can get a solid microphone and whatnot, that saves time and effort.

You have a nice, expressive voice. I'd suggest being a little careful with your speed, a few words could be better enunciated (and better understood) if spoken a tad more slowly.
