So you know those books on tape you can check out from the library, well, I’m doing something like that for my KH fanfic to put on YouTube. {People can see me about collaborating on taking it to a more acting/production level if they’re interested} I am currently casting for the forth world in the series. These are one time appearances except. You can read what I have so far here and hear what we have in audio so far here.
I don’t care about voice matching as much as how I can picture the character you are portraying by hearing your voice THROUGH YOUR ACTING. If you are familiar with the stories, try to capture their essence and personality.
Standard recording procedures, no puffs, pops, peaks, please little to none bg noise.
Be clear, concise, and DICTION is your friend, but just because you’re reading, don’t loose the acting emotion! Keep it alive ^-^--MP3 is preferred, WAV is also acceptable if mp3 is not an option

Story Teller
Bio: This is a big part! The main cheese, our shooting star! The nice thing is it is free-for-all! Male/Female, High/Low, Young/Old, Your natural accent, this is all you!
The trick here, is even though you’re reading the story, to do it in a way to keep the audience attention. Imagine you’re reading to a 1st grader with a 30-second attention span. Don’t go over-the top cheesy, but still read with expression and feeling. Like with the enthusiasm Bastian has reading the Never Ending Story.

Inside the darkness, Riku and Kairi called out for Sora. The darkness was so thick that they couldn’t even see each other and felt that their calls were not penetrating the shadows that surrounded them. Kairi pulled herself closer to Riku and he put his arm around her so they wouldn’t loose each other.
Sora
Age: 17
Bio: The playable character in KH I and II. He’s easy going, fun loving, kind of out it, but is charismatic and easily makes friends in all the worlds he visits. His Nobody, Roxas is also a part of him again.
Voice Type: Boy-ish, but he does have to hit puberty at some point...light, fun, energetic
Audition Lines:
1. (excited) Can you imagine? Soon there will be a travel system between the worlds. Then we’ll be able to visit all our friends whenever we want to!
2. (after going back to school, frustrated) Gah! This is all Xehanort’s fault! Exploring the heart, creating the Heartless, plunging all the worlds into chaos! Things would have been so much simpler if we could have just stayed here and not miss so much!
3. (shouting) Oh no, Kairi! (sobbing) This is so wrong. I couldn’t even protect her. It’s not fair!
4. (supportive, resolute) I may not know much, but I have learned on my travels that sometimes you just have to believe. What Ayumu explained stands to reason. I believe him; this cup isn’t poisoned!
Riku
Age: 18
Bio: A good friend to Kairi and Sora. Even when Xehanort’s Heartless sought control over him, he conquered it and continued to help his friends secretly from the shadows. He is all about doing, taking charge, and getting things done. He had given in to the Darkness, but now has overcome it.
Voice Type: Strong, firm, sensible
Audition Lines:
1. (teasing Sora) You mean a transit system. I think you’ve been with your other friends too long, you’re starting to sound like them.
2. (serious) Laugh all you guys want, but we haven’t really tried to live here since our adventures. It may not be as easy as we think it will be.
3. (holding an unconscious body, shouting) Zefferia! Speak to me!
4. (brooding, bitter) Kairi and Sora seem to be secluding me a lot.

I figure most of the the voices will be easy to come by and it will be a while before we get to this point, but if anyone can do a good Donald, Goofy, or Mickey and would like to try out for them when the time comes, please mention so and I'll be more than happy to notify you when they're open for audition!

“You’re pretty skimpy on the spoilers, what if we get the part?”
If you get the part, I’ll tell you what your character knows ^.~
“Will the actors have to read their parts right from the story?”
I feel it would be the easiest for the Story Teller to read that way, but I will script out everyone else’s part so it will be easier for them to not miss a line ^^
“I want to audition for a character that will show up later, can I try out for them now?”
No, I’m just focusing on one chapter at a time (so I don’t cast everyone and then in 3 months when I get to the others they’ve disappeared) I’ll keep The Blog updated, or you may ask me to notify you when auditions have opened up for them and see if I can keep track of request like that. You can also audition for the Story Teller now so I can have your voice on hand/in mind as later parts role around ^.~
“Will you critique my auditions?”
-.- I hate critiquing. Sorry, when every opinion is different, I can’t bring myself to say much more than “that’s not the voice I’m looking for.” There is a REVIEW AUDITION thread if you want feedback, but I will give feedback to those I actually cast on how to tweak their voice/acting for the actual project.
"What other worlds will have auditions in the future?"
Great question! I'm well familiar with Disney, and did some research on Square-Enix to find some of their other things, including their manga branch~so here's a map of where they'll be visiting

"If I audition and get cast now, can I be cast again for another part later?"
Depends on the roles. If you get storyteller, I don't want to overwork you, but if you get a character that only shows up in one world and/or only has a few lines, if your voice fits then it's a yea to a double-cast
Multiple Roles
As this is Kingdom Hearts and the games themselves have the same voices doing multiple characters, I don’t mind double/triple/quadruple casting (etc)
BUT as this is a RadioPlay, I will only allow an actor to do one voice per World so as not to confuse the audience
Example, I am Zefferia and I’d love to do Hiyono’s voice, but since they appear in the same World and even converse together, I cannot do her voice. But if I need to be the story teller later and/or want to fill another character after Zefferia is gone, then I may. (So you could be Tipa and Rio, but not Tipa and Mog)
