Another factor is that many Asian parents don't want their children to have a movie career because they think it's not as stable compared to having a career in engineering and the medical field, but there really needs to be more actors of color (especially Asian actors) in Hollywood. You know, not all Asian actors do martial-arts movies and there really needs to be more positive representation.

Well, that and talent. If talented Asian guy auditions and SUPER-talented white guy auditions, who're you gonna pick? The reverse holds true as well. Again, keep in mind the director is not a white guy.

Yo. Thing is if it was produced there it's U.S. Product. Indian movies have cast of entire Indians. Did you know Indians (they are Asians too) remake entire Hollywood pictures, cast Indians and get money. Jap/Chinese/Thai anything you want they use local talents and roots for the product. There is no surprise. Also aside from media whereever you find yourself in the world when you different and a minority (even for a small time in a room) you will feel how nationalism/racism the world is - everywhere. Some places are more open than others. Truth is YES - we are all different, let them silly ppl do something else, there will always be someone who want to give you bad vibes. As a black dude, I can easily say that the movie industry is seemingly stuck in their ways...White Goku, White Aang, the delay of Red Tails, The upcoming LA adaptations of both Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion...it's more of an image thing that they are comfortable with simply because, in their mind, it works. If you got an idea that gave you milions of dollars, then why change it, right? It's like having an epic movie with an all asian cast and expecting people to actually watch it over the new overly-shoved-down-your-throat action-with-a-little-sex-romance storyline crap that they've been promoting for x amount of years.

Not pulling the race card here but I don't see much change going with Hollyweird's standards or performances...I guess now's a good time to start making our own movies...let's be real, YouTube is a hell of a medium now.

For some reason I think people just expect anime characters to be translated as Asian actors, which again needs to be dependent on the story. Live-action Akira, unless they change the story, kinda depends on taking place in Japan. Live-action Cowboy Bebop does not and, if anything, has more Chinese elements to it. Sailor Moon takes place in Japan, though you wouldn't know it from the character designs so that's probably a lot more mutable than, say, Death Note which, again, specifically takes place in Japan.

I dunno, I think it's awesome to get more minority actors out there, but story comes first and talent comes second.

I think a white Goku is the least of THAT film's worries. But yeah,I'm also very tired with Hollywood's BS as a whole and would love to see it dissolve financially. But that will NEVER happen.
