    NOTES:
    • In the actual episode, this scene is juxtaposed against two other point-of-views (Zuko and his father; the attack outside) and constantly switches back and forth among them. For this clip, I just decided to cut and paste it all together into one consistent scene, which is why it occasionally fades back in and out of itself. I hope it’s not too distracting.
    • We weren’t going for imitations of the original and we were focusing primarily on the acting. It’s a precarious thing when you’re dubbing a scene that’s already in English, but the goal was to pretty much make it our own.
    • Enjoy~! I pretty much adore my cast and I thank them for bearing with me and turning this into a great clip! You guys totally rocked it. First year of college has been kicking me in the ass, so I'm sorry it took so long to get this out, but I am so proud of the final product. Hopefully I’ll have some more clips with this cast (and some new character additions) on the way. :]
Comments and critiques are totally welcome~

    .... :]

    Aang - KitsuneSqueak
Kitsune, I KNEW you were going to make an amazing Aang and you didn't disappoint. Your boy voice just sounds SO natural. Your acting was spot on and I honestly have nothing to nitpick.

    Azula - Cake Batter
I've said so many times but I'll say it again; you are an amazing Azula. You went ALL out on this clip and it really paid off. Every amount of sass was placed so well and the taunting was just perfect. You really showed Azula's heartless nature and her pompous ego. Fantastic!!

    Sokka - tomatocars
    I wish I had a better mic D:

    Toph - Konata
Konata, seriously when did you get so good?! Your voice was fit Toph so well and your emotions were exactly what I expected to come from Toph's mouth. Your voice was girly enough but at the same time tough enough to complete Toph's character. Such a joy to listen to!

    Mixing:
I know it was a long process but seriously, it all paid off. I have zero complaints. Mouthflaps were a pain to record and mix I'm sure because American show mouthflaps are made specifically for the English language. I am so happy with how the SFX and BGM turned out. Every part of it matched the emotion in the scene and I loved every second of it. I hope we are doing more clips >:3

    Good work everyone!

    Aang - KitsuneSqueak
I liked your voice here. You gave Aang a youthful air, which was a good choice. I think that for the most part, your acting came off really good. No complaints really. Nicely done!

    Azula - Cake Batter
Well, I liked the haughty attitude you conducted Azula with, but I really think that the voice came out sounding a bit too old for Azula. I suppose it's hard to get a good voice for her, though, given that she is the embodiment of evil. I think if you plan on playing Azula again, you might want to try bringing the pitch of her voice up just a little bit, since she's still supposed to be a teenager. Other than that, great job!

    Sokka - tomatocars
I liked that you went with an original tone for your Sokka. I would have liked to hear a bit more authority in your delivery, because this far in the series, Sokka's done a lot of growing up. But that's something really nitpicky. Also, be careful with your "effort" sounds. A lot of your grunts and screams seemed a little off, particularly the one where you charged at Azula to question her about Suki. Just be mindful not to let your voice slip on those. They're hard, but I'm sure you can get it down.

    Toph - Konata
Again, another choice that's different from the original, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Just different. I don't really have a lot of things I can pick apart. I'd try and be careful not to let Toph sound too whiny; she's a tough girl, and she doesn't take crap from anyone. I guess the only thing I could say is try and make her tougher. I know it's not that helpful to say that, but that's all I got. You're too good at this! >_<

    Overall
Some of the mixing seemed a little on the week side, but overall, this was really well-done. The editing of the clips to fit the purpose of this scene was a little jarring, but I can understand why you did it, and I think it was effective. For all the actors, trying to match English words to English lip-flaps is hard. This is why in western animation (like Avatar here), they record the voices first and animate around them. Because it's so much harder to do than matching lip-flaps in anime, I'd just like to applaud everyone fore really doing a good job hitting the flaps with the right timing. There were no really noticeable slip-ups, so great work.

This clip has received Aku's Seal of Approval™!

Avatar :3 I'm so glad to see this one up!

    My notes on this scene:

Aang - KitsuneSqueak: From the little I've heard, you have some awesome boy voices and I really do like this one. However, there were just a few points in this clip where I could tell you were a girl, which I think might have drawn some from your otherwise excellent performance. Your deliveries were strong and you definitely had the Aang energy there, so this is definitely going in the right direction.

Azula - Cake Batter: I think this was a much stronger performance than the last time I saw you play Azula, and I'm glad you had more of a chance to show off. For the most part, I think you've captured the character strongly, but I'm still not sure if I'm entirely settled on the voice. While I know you are not trying to be the original (I totally respect that) I still don't know if I'm hearing the power that Azula needs behind her. I can hear the arrogant swagger and bored amusement, but the command that she holds as such a cold villain is somewhat lacking. I think this may be due to the more breathy quality of the voice you're going with - it's creating a more sultry sound than I think is quite on par with the character. I would try to focus on make your deliveries more clear to really get the clear sinister sound she should have. A few lines that I think this really would have helped to get to full potential would be "Dai Li agents" (I think this could have been lower and a bit more triumphant)

Sokka - tomatocars: I'm a bit on the fence about this one. On the one hand, Sokka is very whinny at times and it can be difficult to take him seriously. You captured that well and I loved some of your shorter deliveries, such as "Ignore!". However, at this point in the series and in this scene, I also think he has a serious, stronger side that I didn't sense as much in your performance (however "Where is Suki" was very good). I think you started off a bit flat, but to your credit, you seemed to do a lot better as the clip went on. Your yells also had good intensity to them, but I would try to make them sound a bit more pained and emotional, and less like he's just yelling for the heck of it. Once again, there are definitely some really strong points to your deliveries on this character, so I hope you continue to tweak this because you've got some good stuff here.

Toph - Konata: This is an ADORABLE Toph. I really think you caught the spirit of her performance well and she was very believable. My only note is that occasionally you almost seemed a bit too girly on a few words or deliveries. It wasn't a consistent or really strong problem, but she is very tom boyish and almost at the completely opposite end of the spectrum for most anime girls her age.

Mixing sounded very nice - I could tell that some of the effects waere ripped straight from the clip, but even when they weren't, the blend was still good enough that it was difficult to tell where one began and the other ended. Vocal levels were good, and the music was very fitting. Excellent job there!

Overall, I think this clip was strong all things considered. I think there are some things that can continue to be improved upon to really refine the characters, but I still had fun watching. Hope that helps a bit!
