  1. #1 Ramune's 2009 Voice Demo
    Ramune's 2009 Character Voice Demo

I'm really pleased to say that I was able to release this character voice demo at the end of summer as I had planned to. Unlike my 1st demo, this showcases me in full form and the extent of my range in its entirety. This is only my second demo, but for me, this marks the start of something fresh and new in my pursuit to be a professional voice actor. So, I hope that my growth and constant striving to rise to pro quality is portrayed strongly here.

Thank you for listening. Critiques/feedback are welcome.

ALL Voices, Original Script, & Mixing: Niel [Ramune] S.
Programs Used: Audacity (recording, audio editing/mixing), iMovie (video)
    BGM: Various OSTs
    SFXs: soundsnap.com

Omg! I love it so much! Your range is so amazing--I have no words for it. I CAN'T BELIEVE you can do girl voices! O_O That's just insane, but in a totally impressive way! XD

That vomit was just lulz. XD I love your accents! Your calm/suave voices are very soothing, and your villainous voices are creepy and eccentric!

I was astounded by your first demo reel, but this one really shows your stuff. Great job!

Heh very nice. Great range and emotion, love how you did this demo.

If I had anything to critique it would be that during one of your laughs near the end it didn't sound very natural or didn't flow very well with how the character was talking.

However overall it was great. Your smooth voices are probably your strongest point while the guy who drew out his sword was probably the least convincing. Still Kudos for using the piano of subarashiki shin sekai~love that song.

    Awesome job!

Nice job my friend. I like how you did this demo and you definitely have quite a bit of range there and the acting was great. Nice demo reel. =P

Really appreciate the feedback I've received so far. It's a bit shocking actually.

Thanks, Danmaru. I truly aimed to show exactly what I could do, as my 1st demo made me appear so limited. My range does surprise even me. Doing girl voices was what I've always wanted to do since I first discovered VAing as an occupation nearly a decade ago. I guess you can say I never gave up on it. I'm glad you took away a good impression from many of the voices I did and enjoyed it so much. =]

Thanks for pointing out the bit about the laughter. I agree that could have been tightened up more. You're right about where my strengths are though. I specifically kept my smoother voices for the end since my 1st demo had a lot of that and it is where I feel I shine. My deeper voices as my weakness is also true. I don't usually get cast for those types, but clearly it's not something I'm willing to exclude from my repertoire as I improve upon it. =] Kudos to you for knowing that song! I love it too. XD

Thanks for dropping me a comment, dude. Means a lot. =] I'm happy that my style of demo production has been likable and that my range and acting are good in your opinion. You've been around pros after all. We really should dub something together for fun one of these days. =P

Awesome demo reel, man! I liked the emotions displayed here, I'd like to see you do a bit more, though. Sounds like you're in the calm and freak out area (which you excel in right here, good stuff). It also seems like you love the high to medium-low range of voice, which is alllll good, bro. Your feminine voices amaze me, xD Not gonna lie. I'd like to see a bit more of texture differences, like, all your voices were pretty smooth sounding, add some gruff or rasp in there, change it up a bit. I did hear accents sprinkled in there, which is great! Can't wait to hear more from you, man! And I hope to work with ya in the future! =D

Not bad, my friend. If there's anything I can really give you to try and help, it'd be to include some more distinction in your voices. You have a nice range from medium to high, but there isn't much in here in a lower register. If you're at all like me, you may not have much of a lower range, but it still benefits you to put at least something in there that showcases that.

Most of these characters (if not all) were pretty silly and/or over-the-top kinds of voices. In your next reel, you might want to try and have some more serious-sounding voices as well so that there's a distinct sense of "movement" in the reel. If the energy is always high and silly, even though it isn't, it'll start to seem boring because everything is at the same level. The voices at 0:50 and 1:17 were good things to include.

Overall, the only thing I could say otherwise is to be careful of your diction. Sometimes it was a little bit hard to understand what you were saying, so just be mindful of that. But otherwise, this was a very-nicely-done demo. I think it should suit your AVA purposes quite well. ^_^

Your smoother voices are definitely your forte. I felt like the 5th voice had too much noise removal on it and was too hollow. It also sounded too much like the 7th voice. It was hard to understand what you were saying in the 8th voice as well. The 10th voice was amazing. I was pondering on whether it was someone else until I remembered that you already said ALL voices were done by you.xD I think you have a tendency to become quieter at the end of your lines so try keeping consistent.:3

    Great job!
