Rise Alpha (α): Rise at Marukyu Tofu

We go to check out where Rise is living in the town and it seems everyone is waiting outside to meet and see her. Kanji tries to ask Adachi a question and he sort of sheepishly answers then runs off scared. Dojima comes out a bit after and seems suspicious of us too asking us why we are here. Everyone goes away thinking shes not there but we decide to buy something there anyway to check. Inside there is a girl who we don't realise is Rise until she lifts her head up. We ask her some questions and warn her about possibly being kidnapped next. She seems rather calm about it and gives us some tofu and our orders and off we go.

Rise Beta (β): Rise Joins the Team

As we go to see Rise we see that kid that was talking to Kanji walking out the shop. Naoto is the name and it seems he's a special investigation detective. He asks us a few questions and then leaves us on our way. Rise walks up and it seems she is OK now. Rise decides to take us to the Shrine to have a talk. She can't remember anything either it seems. Pointless asking really. Seems that Naoto kid was asking Rise questions too. We decide to give her the glasses Teddie made and it seems she is enthusiastic to join the team. Oh man all this happened and exams are apparently coming up too!

Hey! Hooray for Persona! This is great!

BloodRedOath/Yosuke - Your voice quality is perfect for Yosuke! And your acting is good too! I noticed a few mic pops though on your "p"s and "b"s...at least I think I did. It might have been the BG music. ._.;;; Your acting was great - "Whaaaat?! She's not here?!" Perfect!

Count Abyss/Kanji - Nice threatening voice for Kanji! But sometimes, I thought you were straining your voice just a bit to make such a low pitch. Nice acting btw! I thought you nailed the character perfectly!

Tadakichi/Adachi - Your role was slightly smaller than the others, but I thought you did a great job! Your voice was really perfect for the role.

Konata/Rise - You have a really pretty soft voice. ^_^ Very soothing. But I felt that in the clip, Rise should've been a bit more biting, considering how Yosuke comments that she seems different than on TV. Your voice was so sweet all I could think was how nice she sounded. Maybe a little more annoyed? Other than that, great performance! Your voice is really perfect for Rise.

CidRunsFunny/Naoto - You do a really good "that could be a boy I guess" voice! Really, I was impressed with your voice - it was perfect for Naoto!

fruitfly/Chise - I liked your rendition of Chise, but I felt that your voice felt a little strained - a little too nasally, maybe? I'm not sure how to put it - but your tone doesn't feel natural right now.

KitsuneSqueak/Rise - The second Rise! Your rendition is a little younger sounding, which is just fine. But maybe a bit more softness to the tone? I'm not saying you should copy Konata's rendition - in fact, I really liked the fact that you had a voice for Rise that seemed a bit more down to earth. But maybe a little more soft and princessy?

Shudo-Ranmaru/Yukari - Really great! I think your tone and inflections were all perfect. Gah, I can't think of any critique. I thought it was pretty much perfect.

LG65/Kanji - Your Kanji's even lower than CountAbyss's. And I think sometimes the pitch is a bit too low. It sounds a bit like you're forcing it and it's influencing your performance.

Katsu/Nanako - Really really really cute, but a bit too soft. It's hard to hear you at some points.

LG65/Dojima - This guy had a perfect tone and inflection! Very nice performance.

Overall, awesome job guys! This is really professional quality -- just awesome stuff. Hope my critiques were helpful -- they took a long time. ; ;

Ooh, Persona 4 clip! I love this game with a passion so it’s nice to see it get fandubbed!

Alright, here comes the critique. Excuse me if I come off as being nit-picky but this was so good that I’m pretty much forcing myself to find things wrong with it.

Konata(Rise): Your voice was so soft and nice. Really suited for Rise! Your acting was really great too! I liked your emotion, mostly at the beginning when Rise was supposed to sound a little softspoken. As the clip went on though, it felt like you got a little too comfortable with the depressed tone and it soon turned into you sounding tired, flat even. This really showed during Rise’s lines where she explained what she saw on the Midnight Channel. It didn’t really sound like she was explaining at all. I felt that you made a recovery toward the end though because you played off her sweet nature quite well.

KitsuneSqueak(Rise): Well your part as Rise called for a whole different spectrum of emotion and I think you did a really great job! You had the whole cheeriness thing going on and it sounded very natural for the character. I liked your screaming/squealing lines the best.

BloodRedOath(Yosuke): I have to say your voice is really suited for Youske. You puffed a lot on your lines though, like I think there were just a handful where you didn’t. It didn’t really take away from your performance but it still has the potential to be distracting. Despite that, your delivery was perfect!

CountAbyss(Kanji): You’re terrific at playing low toned badasses! You had the attitude going on and you really nailed the character’s talking style and what not. Amazing!

LG65(Kanji): You only had a few lines but really they sounded odd and too old for him. For a lack of a better word, you sounded guttural and slightly forced. If you’re going to try for a low pitch, try to do one where you don’t really have to force it out from the bottom of your throat.

fruitfly(Chie): It felt that sometimes you were overacting the line and it occasionally verged on being cheesy. I really got a sense of this during lines were you were supposed to sound super emotional. Also, you inflected oddly at some times. Your voice fits nicely for Chie though in my opinion.

S h u d o - R a n m a r u(Yukiko): I liked how clear your voice sounded and it fit Yukiko really well. The demure tone you had when delivering lines was really great also! Way to go!

CidRunsFunny(Naoto): To start off, you said “integrate” instead of “ingratiate.” Really, it’s more of a producing error than anything but was something that bugged me about your performance. Your voice is a real androgynous one and I thought it was perfect for Naoto. However, in the lines where Naoto is explaining, I expected it to sound a lot more deductive and slightly know-it-all. I didn’t really get that Naoto knew her stuff from the way you delivered those lines.

LG65(Dojima): This was bittersweet for me. On some instances, you sounded like you had a stuffy nose so some lines came out to sound weird and kind of like a teenager trying to imitate an adult. On the other hand, there were some lines where you really hit it out of the ballpark! You got the rough edge to his voice down and also that authoritative tone. I liked it for the most part!

Katsu(Nanako): Cute~! You played Nanako well! You did only have a few lines but they were delivered nicely and your emotions were believable for a young girl.

Tamekichi(Adachi): You didn’t have the many lines either but your voice fit this part amazingly. I don’t really have much to point out since it was such a short performance but it was done very well!

Overall: The mixing was superb and professional! Although personally, some sound effects sounded wonky to me, like the television effect on the newscaster. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I hope you find the critique helpful and I hope I didn’t come off as being presumptuous and picky because I honestly thought the whole cast was great!
