Project information -This is a new animated fantasy series in the works known as "Fabula Libri," which is Latin for "Fable Book" or "Story Book." It centers around a teenager named Steven Wilson who recently got his computer taken away from his own mother (since he is addicted to it and has behavioral problems as a result) and resorts to going to the library for his form of entertainment. When no book is able to entertain him there, the librarian points him towards a magical book that transports him to a completely different world where Steven has become a wizard and must use his newfound magical abilities to survive and find his way home.
A couple of notes:
1. The only major character in THIS episode right now is Steven Wilson, who is the main protagonist. If you get casted for him you MUST be able to provide more lines for later episodes. All the other characters are minor in this episode, so if you cast for them and thats that, that is fine, but if you could stick around in case more roles show up in later episodes, that would be appreciated.
2. This will be released on YouTube on an account that is yet to be created, but if something happens with where the videos will be released, I'll update that.
3. It is REALLY appreciated if you can agree to be credited by your first and last name, since I want to make this series as professional as possible. If you do not wish to use your real first and last name, then please pick a different first and/or last name as your alias (e.g. Steve Markson wants to be credited as Steve Daveson, or William Markson, or etc. That is fine)
4. This episode will NOT be released the moment it is done. In fact, right when this episode is completed I will merely get started on ANOTHER episode, and then start another one, and so on. I will begin releasing episodes when I have completed at least 3-5 episodes in a season. This way I can work more efficiently and things will be MUCH more easier. I'll even be able to release episodes on a routine basis this way!
Audition deadline - The audition lines for the characters will be due on Friday, August 21st.
Recording and Contact information - This is how the lines should be done and how I can be contacted for such reasons:
-Record in an mp3 format and PLEASE make sure it is of good quality and there is NO background noise! Again, I want to make this series as professional as possible so the more quality the sound has, the better the animation. After all, the voices are what makes the characters come to LIFE!
-Save the lines in this format, "charactername_seriesname_linenumber.mp3" (ex: StevenWilson_FabulaLibri_01.mp3)
-To send auditions or just plain ol' contact me, please e-mail to 'gamerfreaker@gmail.com' You can also message me on AIM (UltimaMage25), Steam (GamerFreaker), Skype (GamerFreaker), or MSN (gamer.freaker@hotmail.com).
Characters - Here is the list of characters you can audition for in episode 1:
Name: Steven Wilson (The main character)
Age: 16
Bio: Steven Wilson is a shy, mainly sarcastic teenager who only has very few friends. He had one VERY special friend, a girl (who is yet to be named in later episodes) who moved away. This girl was the best friend he could ever have, and the move has really taken a toll on his personality, which caused him to become addicted to the computer and have a somewhat negative attitude. When his computer was taken away, he heads to the library to read a fantasy book or two, and it is THERE where everything he knew will be changed forever...
Voice type: He has a medium-pitched voice and sounds like your average joe teenager in high school. Think of the character Anthony Heitzmann from One Life Remaining ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8p2PZ3rtRY&feature=channel_page"]YouTube - One Life Remaining S1: Episode 2 (halo machinima)[/ame]).
Audition line 1: *Uses a negative tone* Mom its my summer vacation, I can do whatever I want. Besides, my friends are on vacation, my summer assignment isn't due for two
months, so your argument about what I should be doing on MY own time should simply be kept to yourself-(interrupted)
Audition line 2: I'm going to the library, *starts to get sarcastic* since you're SUCH the kind mother to take away my computer, the TV, and
virtually all forms of entertainment in this house.
Audition line 3: What the-?! There's no words at all in this book! No pictures, no sentences, nothing! Is that old hag trying to rip me off or
something?
Name: Mrs. Wilson (Steve's mother, appears only in THIS episode)
Age: 40
Bio: Mrs. Wilson is the mother of Steven Wilson. Because of Steve's recent behavioral problems, she does everything she can to make sure Steve is under control, although she does not really know WHY Steve behaves negatively.
Voice type: She has a medium-to-high pitched range of a female voice, typically like your average mother.
Audition line 1: Steve, you've been on the computer ever since school ended, don't you want to go out and socialize or at least work on your
summer assignment?
Audition line 2: *Begins to yell* Steven Wilson that is ENOUGH! *Starts to calm down, still infuriated* Your attitude is getting worse and
worse EVERY SINGLE DAY and it has to stop. I'm taking away your computer!
Audition line 3: Steve I know you're upset at me now, but I'm only doing this because its for your own good.
Name: The Librarian (appears only in THIS episode)
Age: ??
Bio: This very old, female librarian has an amazing ability to remember everything that happens in her life with every single detail, including Steve Wilson himself, for whom she has not seen in the library since he was just a toddler. She shows Steve a very interesting book that turns out to be more then "just a book..."
Voice type: You could say this librarian sounds like your average grandmother, seeing how she is very old. Think of an elderly lady voice and you'll have nailed it.
Audition line 1: Oh I just remember when you came here at a younger age. I remember almost everything that goes by, helps with being a
librarian after all!
Audition line 2: Ha, thats honestly the first time someone asked me that question. Well, it is really useful for me, but at times there are
things I remember that I wish I could forget, but I won't go into too much detail. But anyway, is there anything you want to do here?
Audition line 3: Normally I wouldn't let ANYONE go in here. But for you, I think I am willing to make an exception.
A couple of final notes: - Remember, the audition lines MUST be handed in by August 21st on a Friday. The deadline will be extended if it is required, but please give this audition a try. Multiple outtakes ARE allowed, in fact, feel free to comment about anything in your recording before you say your lines. If you are looking for me to critique your voice work, let me know when you send the lines to me. Other then that, please give this a try, and good luck! With your help, this series can hopefully start something on the internet...
