The person who inspired me is Scott McNeil, what an awesome voice actor! I love his range and the certain spark he gives his characters, plus he just seems like a funny/great guy.![]()
Definitely with you on that one. I've seen him at a convention or two and I like pretty much everything I've seen him in. :]
I've always wanted to be an actor and love voice acting because you can literally be any kind of character as long as you can pull of the voice and portrayal which is really cool to me.
My inspiration comes from the old school crowd. I'm talking waaaaay back, back when voice acting wasn't necessarily a job title, it was something you did. People like Paul Frees, Bill Thompson, narrator John McLeish (of the Goofy cartoons); and of course...Mel Blanc.
That's not to say I don't have a strong admiration for many modern voice actors; they just take second fiddle to these early pioneers. But my contemporary inspirations include Billy West, Jim Cummings, Rob Paulson, and Corey Burton.

My inspiration comes from all those male child actors out there with real acting skill...because eventually they'll hit puberty and I'll still sound like them later. ;P I'm a big Tara Strong fan, too. And Kristin Chenoweth, but I'm not sure she's done any voiceover. She just has a cool voice.
But what inspired me to get into VO in the first place is the fact that to this day I get mistaken for a little boy on the phone.![]()
Mel Blanc. Need I say more?

Well ever since I was a kid I knew it that I wanted to be a performer. But things weren't exactly so easy for me. I grew up in Brunei with the strong influences of western values and cultures fused with my asian ones. I got picked on a lot when I returned back to Singapore. Cosplaying somewhat made it a little better for me but well there were cosplay politics too. So when I was 14 I turned to voice-acting, it pretty much came to me at a point in my life when I was at the verge of suicide due to the constant stress and bullying that I was going through. I got insulted that I could never make it as a a singer/actress cause I guess I wasn't pretty? yeah then again I don't blame people much for that I am not all that. But things took a HUGE turn for me when I heard the voice-actress of Paine from Final Fantasy X-2 the english one of course. I got curious and googled her name and to my utter surprise I found out that she was a Singaporean! Just like me! I was so inspired by Gwendoline Yeo and that was when I knew it that I really wanted o do a voice-actress. ^^
