    My Inspiration

Hey everybody I've been working on my website and stuff, putting things on my website and I thought of this question. I have alot of inspiration from alot of people and I wanted to know what your inspiration is, and why you decied to voice act.

I been voice acting for about 2 years now. I'm not the best out there but it's something I enjoy. I was inspired by mindy-chan and her project the sailormoon movie dub she has done. It's so incridible that she dubbed an entire movie. She's definatly one of my inspirations what's yours?

Well I joined the VAA back in '05 just for the hell of it,

But I suppose it helps watching cartoons and anime and games, listening to those great actors and trying to have a go yourself

I didn't really know there was voice acting until around the ninth grade. My birthday before that school year started I had heard a voice commentary by Jessica Boone and Monica Rial on DN Angel Volume 4 Magical Girls and I at that point realized I'd found my future career. Not only that but that same ninth grade year we were asked to do a project and interview someone in the profession of our choosing. I was lucky enough to be able to interview Rebecca Beck who really inspired me to give it my all.

I love film and I love filmmaking. I love everything from camera work to acting.
I came across VA, had alot of fun with it and decided to work on it a bit.

As a kid I had always copied voices I heard on tv (typical story right? >> ), and I was pretty good at recognizing similar voices on tv shows. (One of my first ones was Dex and Burnerman from Megaman being Eddy from Ed Edd 'n Eddy, and Inuyasha respectively. Along with Tai from digimon and the main character in cyborg 009.)

But I never really looked it up. Until I heard a commercial for the Bleach dub. I didn't know much about Bleach, but I looked it up and saw a bunch of stuff about how people hate Ichigo's dub voice, so I looked up who it was. Found out it was Johnny Bosch, who I recognized from Power Rangers back in the day. That made me interested in the topic and I looked around wikipedia and stuff about voice actors for a while. Eventually, realizing quite a few shows shared voice actors.

After watching the Bleach dub for a few weeks, for some reason I started to really like Johnny's voice, and I tried to imitate it and incorporate it into my own speech. (A little weird, I know, but I was a bit younger XD) Decided to try a bleach fandub (which i tried but never finished lol) and found that I really liked doing it. Looked up stuff about it, became kinda discouraged at first, but then realized I love it too much to not try.

tl;dr version: Johnny Bosch on Bleach.

Well, I loved animation and such. Then, I saw some people do the job in a little interview (it was for Kingdom Hearts II), and thought, "Hey, this could be fun." So...here I am 4 years later (though I didn't start until last year).

The person that really inspired me to become a voice actor is Laura Bailey.
She's really been my idol for a long time. When i watched the English dub for fruit's basket i was really blown away by her emotion's and voice. Since then i have been amateur voice acting and wanting to be a professional voice actor in the future.

now i watch every single thing Laura Bailey is in and i try to practice my imitation for her. =]

When I was REALLY little, honestly like 2-ish, my family had a cat that puked all of the time. But when the cat puked, it made a really specific sound; one that I instinctively learned how to emulate. This lead to endless years of fun as I would make the noise and watch my mom run into the room screaming "where's the cat!?" Big fun.

Jump ahead to my high school years, I realized I could emulate my gym teacher's voice, which then resulted in my doing it for all of my teachers for their amusement. All the while, I had started realizing that the voices in cartoons and anime were always the same people. I had also noticed that certain voices only worked with others (American dubs vs. Canadian dubs).

Another jump to Spring Break my first year of college and my father said that he always thought it was odd that I went to study film. When I asked why, he told me that after my whole life being about cartoons, he always thought I'd do something with cartoons. And that was pretty much when I realized that I had to fully pursue voice acting.

So, here I am. 19 years later, and it all began with cat puke. Good times. Good times...
