Question. I never been to this convention, do you pick up you're pre-registration a day before like Otakon or do it Friday? I am just contemplating if I should arrive on a Thursday or Friday morning.

Wowzors, hotels in New York are expensive *dies*.

7 blocks from convention: average rate $239

10 blocks from convention: average rate $189

And these are event hotels. Tried looking at others, cheaper would be much farther away.

xD Okay if you don't mind sharing a hotel and finding other who do then that isn't that bad @_@ it still high and I could never solo the cost, but if more people need a hotel that's definitely an idea. Also, I'm not sure this will be my first time pre-registering for a con.

Question! Is it better to order tickets online or is it better to purchase them from a vendor?

I've already got a place to stay so it's definite now! Haven't bought my ticket yet because I don't know if I'm working there this year, but I can't wait! x3

majia: I'd get them online, but it's up to you!

A word about hotels: cheaper ones would be farther away, but depending on where it is and if you don't mind commuting, the subway could take you there in time. Though if you get a hotel in the Bronx or Brooklyn, I wouldn't be so sure. XD

*bt dubs, I'm not really hatin' on the other boroughs, I love you*

The voice contest seems really intense...though I suppose rightfully so, as the work would be paid...plus working with NYAV Post would be AMAZING...I guess it's the closest thing to AX Idol we have in the city...

I'm debating if I should go/compete. I'm kinda getting butterflies thinking about it!

EDIT: I wonder if the contest may not happen this year if they haven't posted any rules yet...

All right Shelene! Here's the answer to your question:

Chat InformationPlease wait for a site operator to respond.

Chat InformationYou are now chatting with 'LaVonne'

    LaVonne: hello

    Mickey: hi

LaVonne: How may I help you

Mickey: I have a question about pre-registration for the New York Anime Festival.

    LaVonne: okay

LaVonne: what can I help you with

Mickey: All right, after we've registered online and printed the tickets (I believe we're supposed to print them).

Mickey: Do you pick up you're pre-registration a day before like Otakon or do it Friday? I am contemplating if I should arrive on a Thursday or Friday morning.

LaVonne: Tickets have to be picked up on the day of the event (meaning Friday)

Mickey: Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

    Mickey: Take care!!

    LaVonne: your welcome

    LaVonne: have a great day

Thus far I confirmed three people, which includes myself, and one maybes. ^^ I will be checking into the hotel on a Friday morning to save money. I will be booking it tonight. So if anyone needs a room, contact me and I will provide the information.

NY IS expensive >.< Which reminds me, I gotta refill my subway/metro card soon >.<
I'm not sure if I would be allowed to stay/help pay for a hotel with anyone 'cause I was planning on just taking the train into Grand Central, a subway or two somewhere, and then maybe a cab? I donno xPP

I am curious about maybe asking you, Shelene, if I could stay with you/help pay but only for Saturday night? School starts for me...two weeks or so before the con. So I am not sure about my schedule and if I could afford to go for more than one day because of time (not money). Or maybe, if I don't have homework, I could arrive later on the friday and do the weekend that way? I donno~ I'm still thinking about it xPP

Also, in regards to the Voice acting contest, I am not sure if this is mentioned but you either gotta be 18 years old or a high school gradute to participate (just letting any of you youngins like me know...) This was a rule the first year of the con...but if it's changed or something then someone feel free to correct me xPP

Thank you Warchamp for your awesome photoshopping skills <333

Mii-kun: If you post on Cosplay.com, I'm setting up a Baccano gathering on Sunday. I'm planning to wear Miria's New York City dress. Crimson Blood is also cosplaying as Dallas.

Have you tried looking at the Gershwin? If you book in advance, you could score a decent room. Also, if you don't mind staying at a bed and breakfast type of place, those can go under $150. I'm definitely considering staying at the Gershwin this year, since I've stayed there before. Public transit is really easy to find and it's in a decent area.

I just checked out Gershwin. It's more expensive, unless you stay in the dorm rooms which is really cheap but you need a lot more people for that.

Mii-kun: Just sent ya a PM.
