I might be out of line (as there's a link for donations and such, so the criteria may be different) but we have a thread for condolences and these sorts of things. This is really sad, and Dan himself has always seemed like such an awesome person, but I'm not sure if these needs its own thread.

I wish I could donate to ANYTHING like this, but I have no job and continue to remain unemployed, despite how much I apply, because all I have is experience in childcare with NO CDA. :/

Most fans usually are pretty good at helping out with these kinds of things, so there should be much problem there. This is a sad thing D: though I too kind of agree that I don't know if it really needs it's own thread since the Condolence thread is kind of made for this kind of thing in general (even though this is taking donations).

According to Anime News Network, she passed away June 9th after a "long bout with illness," which according to Wikipedia was ovarian cancer. Why does it ALWAYS have to be cancer? T_T

I know this is probably long overdue, but I've prepared a memorial. It's the least I can do to remember her by...

My friend. We've just received word from his mom that his dad is having trouble breathing and has fluid on his lungs. His diagnosis is unknown, but he's had cancer and hepatitis before, so we're all really worried, especially his wife who recently lost her mother to cancer.

I'd like to extend a farewell to Christopher Hitchens. One of the better humanist philosophers we had this generation. His ability to communicate his point, though controversial at times, was still very very prevalent even to those who disagreed with his views. His work will go on through his books as well as the filmed debates he took part in. The Hitch lives on.
