ADGAEIGH!!! I'll be sure to give this a listen once I get home. Expect a critique tomorrow!

EDIT: I have some time waiting for the plane, so here's my critique!

    Mr Gartz - Evan

My first time hearing you, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed! Despite the few number of lines that you have, your voice really had that authoritave aura around it. No complaints here. I just can't wait to hear you do some more lines.

    Hatchet Barons - Klyexo

This wasn't the voice that I expected out of the character, Hatchet, but I did begin to love your voice for the character as the chapter moved on. It fit the character's mischevious nature very well! Your emotion was executed excellently throughout the chapter. The only flaw that really stuck out to me was how you pronounced Amalia. But still, I'm surprised I haven't heard from you before! (As a final note, my favorite line from you was "Dang. Well look at the time!" I lol'd. |D)

David Romero - Dan "Convito" Conlin

When I first listened to the draft of this chapter, I hadn't realized that you voiced David Romero, too! Great differentiation between this voice and the voice you used for Eisen. Although the voice itself sounded a bit wacky and over the top, it was still very interesting to listen to. Can't wait to hear more from you!

    Emerson Noyes - TriPredRavage

We tend to get paired up a lot, don't we? Anyhow, it was very interesting to hear your take on Emerson. Some lines were delivered differently than I imagined, but not in a bad way. Your voice really fits the bill for Emerson, too. But sometimes, you slurred your words a bit. I also thought that the narrative parts and the "Infernal Sabre!" line could've gotten some more emotion. On the other hand, I loved your battle noises. Needless to say, I became a huge fan of yours. 8D

    Dr Alph - Blossercubbles

Just so you know, I love any guy who can make the kind of voice that you're using for this radioplay. You have quite the interesting character, and you portrayed him well. Since I didn't hear

    Cafeteria Chef - DukeRobear

First thing that comes to mind while listening to your voice: Crispin Freeman. You portrayed your small part very, very well! I want to hear more from you!

Eisen Gaia - Dan "ConVito" Conlin

ConVito's deep voice!! KYAA! You know that I love yoru deeper voices. And your attacking sounds. You do portray those tough yet stoic characters super-well. I enjoyed every scene that Eisen was in -- and like I said, I couldn't connect Eisen's voice to David. You left quite an impression on me here.

    Metra Sylar - Zellie

I literally fell in love with your voice when I heard the preview of these chapters. You have a very nice smooth, low voice that I'm already extremely jealous of. You did very well with the emotion, especially in the scene with Dr. Alph. However, you sounded rather tired during the conversation with Amalia. Be sure to take care of yourself! But still, you have gotten a new fan through this radioplay.

    Guard - McTricky

Your one-liner stuck out because of your mic quality, so you might want to watch that! This performance was very breathy and sounded a bit unnatural. Despite it being a one-liner, it affected the overall quality of the radioplay.

    Mixing & Script

The mixing, overall, was epic!! The quality of the radioplay was awesome despite the audio qualities -your audio mixing never ceases to amazing. Nothing negative really stuck out to me when it came to the mixing. But the highlights were definitely the fights and your choices in BGM. When it comes to the script, you could definitely hear a lot of references to FF VIII. It's not that I mind it much, but it took away from some of the originality. Then again, as the script goes on, the story takes becomes its own. But the conversations were natural, if not video-game like. Great job here, McTricky!

    Finally,

    Amalia Winters - Sera Phia

There was plenty of times that I thought I could've done better with my emotion and delivery. I'm very used to playing characters like Amalia, but she was fun to play. I apologize for my audio quality if it bothered you much. >.< Still, I can't wait to hear more!

Overall, thsi radioplay was really awesome to listen to. The music and wide variety of characters and voices made it very enjoyable. The battle sequences were done excellently! Despite you being restricted to audio, your use of SFX and our battle cries really formed a clear picture in my mind (either that or I have a wild imagination). Everyone's doing a great job so far -- and I know that it'll get better and better as time moves on. Much kudos to everyone's hard work!

    Awesome.

Mr Gartz - Evan - Really well done. You spoke very clearly and believably. The voice was just perfect for a professor. Hope to hear more of you.

Hatchet Barons - Klyexo - You really give Hatchet that "mysterious" feel while still sounding believable and mostly normal. That's definitely no easy task, and it definitely deserves a lot of respect.

David Romero - Dan "ConVito" Conlin - I'm incredibly proud of my performance as David. I just want to say that.

Emerson Noyes - TriPredRavage - Nicely done. There were a couple times where the emotion was slightly off, but it was very minor and the overall performance was wonderful.

Amalia Winters - Sera Phia - You have the voice of a cute but strong girl, which is how I picture Amalia. like TriPredRavage, there were a couple small spots where the emotion could have used some tweaking (such as when you say "Wha-?" in one part. I feel it could have stood to sound a little more surprised and startled, but maybe that's just me.). Otherwise, a lovely performance.

Dr Alph - Blossercubbles - This was cool. I was reminded of Liam O'Brien a little (more specifically how he sounded as Lloyd in "Code Geass") which is awesome. However, you also made the part your own which isn't always easy to do. Well done.

Cafeteria Chef - DukeRobear - You reminded me a little bit of Lex Lang. It sounded great and you did a great performance. You slurred some of your words just a little though. But the positives in your case outweigh the negatives exponentially.

Eisen Gaia - Dan "ConVito" Conlin - I'm gonna need to work on this. I've never really been good with characters that are like me. I'm using my natural voice (with a few tweaks, naturally) but even for Eisen I think I sound a little emotionless or in some cases the emotion is there but it's still off. I'll keep trying.

Metra Sylar - Zellie - This was amazingly sexy. Seriously, there are so many inappropriate comments I want to make now but I won't. (boobs) Long story short (heh heh, long and short ok I'll stop now), you rocked.

Guard - McTricky - Only one line to go off. Sounded ok for the most part though.

Mixing: McTricky - Nicely done. There were quite a few awkward pauses and fades to nothing especially in the last part, though I don't know if they were supposed to be intentional. Overall, nicely done. The lines fit together really well.

Oh wow, thanks guys! I've been doing VAA stuff here and there but haven't gotten much outside feedback before.

Not much I can add....I was seriously impressed with the talent considering none of us are getting paid for this!

McTricky in particular is freaking amazing... seriously dude, is there anything you don't do well?! The mixing MADE this for me. It's really hard to translate a game to a radioplay given quest explanations and stuff, there are only so many ways you can phrase 'you need to do this to complete the quest.' The SFX coupled with the subtext your VAs add really brings out the best in the story so that even the quest points sound meaningful.

Sera Phia, that's funny because I'm jealous of your voice too! I mean, I enjoy my dark (apparently) sexy range but I get turned down for a lot of roles because I don't have that high girl! voice that you've got. It's even harder for me when I do theatre because I'm tall so I don't typecast as mom/daughter too well, being as I'm often taller than dad/brother. I usually end up as an old lady ^_~ FUN but variety is good too.

You've also got an underlying toughness that separates you from the dime a dozen girl voices. Exactly how I imagined Amalia! I don't notice any issues with your delivery....though I know the feeling. It's fun to hear myself in finished projects but at the same time I'm always thinking 'but I could have made this better' Like with Metra, I keep hearing myself tripping over my tongue, ugh, WHY did I send those and not redo them D: also have some gravelly moments I don't like.

ConVito-you're cracking me up! I was totally not going for sexy! I guess I just can't help myself

"This concludes the part of the tour where you stay alive" - Loved this part!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Yay, my first released project! How exciting! That said, this is also my first review! I've listened to it about 4 times now in preparation to writing this review. Also, this is my first time hearing most of your voices, so here we go:

Mr Gartz - Evan - I really enjoyed your performance! You had a good voice for the character and you really sounded like a teacher. I found your performance to be very believable.

Hatchet Barons - Klyexo - You did very well! I found Hatchet to have a very pompous presence to him that I thought you played very well. There were a few moments where I heard your breath hit the mic, though, so you may want to try and not breathe as directly into the mic when you have a sigh or exhale. Overall, though, great job!

David Romero - Convito - However short it was, I really enjoyed your portrayal of this role. The voice you used had a sort of 'Tom Kenny' feel to it, so I instantly found it entertaining. I can't wait to hear this character more in the future.

Amalia Winters - Sera Phia - We do seem to have a knack for landing roles opposite one another. I think we work pretty well with each other if this project is any indication. That said, I really liked your portrayal of Amalia. It was kinda funny, because I recorded my lines imagining your voice for Mobile in BASIC for Amalia, which was entertaining because, in the end, the voices are so similar and yet so different as well. I think it's easy for us to find so many moments where our emotions are off, or our lines don't flow perfectly because there are so many moments where it is just you and I talking to each other. I'm not going to stress too much about it right now, but now that I know how you are interpreting Amalia, it's something I'm going to keep in mind in the future.

Dr Alph - Blossercubbles - I get a kick out of your character and your portrayal of him. I think my lines played well as a set up for some of yours, so I'm really happy about that. I look forward to more from Dr. Alph in the future!

Cafeteria Chef - DukeRobear - for what was part with such little to work with, I really liked your character. You really gave off that feel of the cafeteria worker who cares about the kids (there's always one!), and it worked really well! I'd order Cheeseburgers and Jerk Chicken from you any day!

Eisen Gaia - ConVito - I heard what you are talking about in your self-critique, but I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Being a character of the Earth Element, I imagine your character being strong and stern, so what you did in this really worked. I think we all have room to improve, and now that we know what we all sound/act like, I think (hope) these moments come more naturally to us. All and all, I really liked your Eisen, and I can't wait to see how he develops further.

Metra Sylar - Zellie - you did great in this role. You had a very cool/aloof feel to your voice and delivery and I thought it worked very well. I can't wait to hear your character in more stressful situations to hear your performance/portrayal!

Guard - McTricky - Your mic quality could be a bit jarring, BUT being a guard, I just imagined your character in some sort of armor, so it didn't break the illusion for me. I have to laugh at your emotion/portrayal because you sounded a lot like a guard who was sick of his job (I'm sure checking kids' weapons all day can be very tiring!) and it reminded me of exactly how the security guards at my University sound. That said, I found your one line to be great and immensely realistic!

Mixing: McTricky - I LOVE the fights. I thought they sounded so cool (you made me sound epic!) and were paced so well. Action sound (ex: footsteps) were great and I thought very well balanced. There were moments where I thought the music was a little too loud, but overall I thought it was very well made. I can't wait for the next chapter!

    Finally,

Emerson Noyes - TriPredRavage - For my first (released) project, I am very proud of myself. I tried to get these done as quickly as possible as I came into the project replacing another VA, so I think I may have put a little too much pressure on myself. I thought my fight sounds were very well performed and I am quite fond of my performance overall. I have areas to improve in, sure, but I think now that we've gotten this first episode with each other out of the way, I think I can only go up from here. I'm going to be keeping an ear out for the things critiqued of me in the future and I hope to put out a better performance in the future.

Congratulations Everybody! Thank you for the critiques, and on to the next episode!

Ugh...I've hit a block in my writing for a new original radioplay. So, I guess I'll bump this topic as well as give my thoughts on the cast of Chapter 2.

Evan as Mr Gartz: Did I ever tell how awesome you are? No? You are awesome. When I listened to your lines who had a very good, clear, solid, and loud voice with an amazing mic quality. Sounded very much like how Gartz should sound. Nice one!

    Klyexo as Hatchet Barons: I don't know, but to me it sounded like you were using your normal voice, which is fine because whatever voice you were using it works extremely well with Hatchet and his personality. I was aware that your pronounciation of Amalia was off, but you took FOREVER to get your redo in, and I couldn't delay this any longer D;

ConVito as David Romero: You ever have an idea of how a character should sound and then you get an audition and it sounds very different from what you have in mind, but then you realise: "THIS WORKS!" Yeah, that's what happened here. It's amazing the kind of voices you can pull off instead of the deep voice I usually hear from you. David sounds really cool here and has that unique flare to his voice that'll (hopefully) make him rememberable.

Sera Phia as Amalia: Suffice to say, I thought your voice for Amalia was perfect and I thought your performance was pretty good. (I'm easily impressed, I guess.....hey that rhymed! *shot*)
In any case, I don't know if it was you or your mic but a lot of your lines came in very quiet. One thing though: your "Wha?!" should've sounded like a cut off "What?" instead of sounding like a full word (if you get what I mean O.o).

TriPredRavage as Emerson: This is my first time working with you (well with all of you really) and hearing your voice. You gotz mad acting skillz dude! During the whole scene after the fight where Emerson tells everyone about *spoiler*, I felt most of your lines were pretty cool, although some lacked good delievery. In battle you are awesome. Well done for your first released project!

Blossercubbles as Dr Alph: Convito, the reason why he sounds like Liam 'O Brian's Lloyd in Code Geass is because...I asked him to pull off a voice like that. And Bloss, you did a very good job at that. You really made Dr Alph sound unique ^^

DukeRobear as Cafeteria Chef: Well, I'll say that you definitely put on a good show. You sounded very friendly and really brighten the mood of the scene you were in.

ConVito as Eisen: Hey man, it worked. As silent and stern as you sounded you were still epic, especially during the fight scene ;D

Zellie as Metra: Awesome performance here, Zellie. I can't find any flaws with this. You captured the emotions really well and I liked how you interpreted the typos in the scripts. Good stuff ^^

McTricky as Guard: I'm sorry, everyone. The headset failed me this time, and ugh...I breathe too much.

Mixing by McTricky: I had a real blast mixing this and getting to hear everyone's amazing talent. I did have a few troubles with this. One was that I accidentally moved all the voices and SFX out of place so they were everywhere. It was horrible...D; But I fixed that. Another was speech pace. TPR spoke considerably faster than the previous VA for Emerson, so there was a lot of shifting about involved (which is why the previous problem happened in the first place). One last one was rendering. I had to render these at least 3 times because of "FALCON PAWNCH!!" SFX I accidentally left in there whilst mixing the fight scenes. xP I really like the music I picked out for it, especially the battle music. But I'd like to thank everyone for their hard work on this!

Well, that may be. But I find it impressive that he's able to pull a voice like that off so well. I don't know how he sounds naturally, though. But I myself would love to be able to produce a "Liam-esque" voice.
