Neither the OED (abridged) nor dictionary.com lists 'casted' as a word or proper form of a word. It is incorrect usage in all cases. The past tense of the word is 'cast,' whether you're talking about being placed in a role("Yay, I was cast as Treize!" "I cast him for his uniquely wide vocal range") or you're talking about throwing something ("The die is cast" or "He cast the interloper into the abyss"), or you're talking about producing something from a mold ("We cast only thirty widgets of that design. It shouldn't be hard to track down").

One of my happy moments is when people use it correctly, too. So I'm absolutely, 100% with you there.

POSITIVE: When people have obviously proofread their writing.

The word is "Cast," not "CASTED" For the love of all that is sacred: "Casted" is not a word.

VAA Happy moment of the day:

I've just finished rehearsing/acting the last of multiple stageplay readings in the past two weeks, and spent my afternoon off recording and mixing a soon-to-be-released duet. I'm looking at my VAA planner (BELIEVE IT) and I've got no less than ten deadlines for different auditions and projects, not to mention my own personal song projects and my commercial demo on the back burner, the latter of which I know I need to get ready sooner rather than later if I'm to take advantage of the contacts my agents have given me this summer. Oh, and I have rehearsal for a production tomorrow. And I've got a meeting on Monday with a photographer to discuss getting new headshots.

The voices in my head have consumed my brain, but instead of freaking the fuck out, I kind of grin and think to myself: I can do this. Let's get crackin'.

I don't think I'd have it any other way.

I have a lot of fun that way. I don't like actually casting though, because I'm ALWAYS throwing out good auditions during the elimination process.

I feel your bad luck, Dinkar. It's gratifying when I finish something.
I have Fate/stay night fandub scripts in need of a good home. Contact if interested.

I'm always up to something here and here. Feedback is always appreciated.

When people really implement what you suggested to them in a critique. It's always nice to know that people are willing to listen to your advice.

i actually like casting, but i don't like it at the same time. i like picking the great voices and seeing people be excited about getting a part... but then i hate letting people go like you said. especially when there were at least 7 people who could have easily done the part.. there was just one person that was best for the part. i like casting 2 understudies because of this though xD then i feel like i have much more freedom.

Getting a compliment or critique from those few people in the community I have genuine respect for. Though it's a bit of a given nowadays, a kind word in passing from the right person still makes me go eeeeeeee on the inside.

When you get a role you did not in anyway expect.

I have to agree with you on that one.

To go with that, also when people that you also respect/fangirl over their voice audition for your project. It's not like I give them the part, but it's really nice to be acknowledged. |D
