VA Little Happy Moments

Well, If I'm recording for an abridged series and the line I'm reading is hilariously funny...yeah.

I love when, after doing one million takes of the same YELLING LINE...I finally get it down to how I want it. Woohoo.

When your cast sends in lines by the deadline. And I mean EVERYONE in your cast. Sadly, this has only happened to me once. XD

I love getting a line in from a VA that's so perfect it gives me a chill--when it turns out even better than I imagined it when I wrote it. :3

When I recieve lines of such abmysal acting quality that I feel completely justified in letting them know how much they suck and that they should never voice act for anyone again. Ah, bliss.

I'll admit that it doesn't happen as often as I like nowadays - after all, I use the same half dozen awesome people who can keep to a deadline. But yeah, people who cannot act will be called on it if they fail to deliver.

When I record in a professional booth *pure bliss*.
When I voice act in something truly original, instead of the usual "Paint-by-numbers" Fandub.
When I get to voice act with talented people.
Working for talented producers.
When a project comes out that you are involved with in some way...and it's glorious.

What I'm about to say is probably incredibly egotistic but I'll be honest. I love when people like my performance. It means to me a lot since I am struggling with so many different factors aside from voice (pronounciation, clarity and dare I say accent?) so when I do a role well, it means I have overcome all those obstacles and I have the courage to move on.

Another thing is if the producer still tells me I did a good job in the audition DESPITE not getting a role. As long as I know I did well, it's all good!

I'm also with tomatocars when it comes to people showing interest in projects, I think it gives me an incentive, as a director, to have them join in a future project just because I know I can rely on someone devoted and trustworthy.

Another thing for me is breaking typecast. Those who heard me know I have a somewhat medium-low tone, so when I'm getting a high pitched character it makes me happy that I can branch from my usual forte. That didn't happen a whole lot but I am extremely happy when it does happen once in a while.

One of the thing I hold dear is also that the cast with you are happy you are part of the project. When people say "I'm looking forward working with you", of course it's not literal as people can't record in the same room, but just the fact they are glad makes me happy. Actually it's more shocked as I say to myself "erm... are you talking to ME?"

I think I'll sum this up for now, but again. good idea ConVito!

I always like, squeal when I'm doing a reverb type of effect on a line, or playing around with different echo effects, and I get one that just sounds perfect for what I want. It makes me sooo freaking happy and all excited and akjfdl;kfhea. One of my little happy moments. X33 <3<3

I'm the same way. Since I live in Ohio, it's virtually impossible to find voice work. So on those rare occasions when I can actually get in a booth and be directed (without having to sit at home under a blanket to reduce echo, and without having to fine tune all the lines myself), it's an experience that I can never get enough of.

This is really important to me because I am not trained at all. My knowledge of tone and vocal range comes from just listening to classical and broadway for practically all of my life - so to find the distinction myself...

Well, I'm just proud I guess.
