VA Little Happy Moments

I apologize for the title, I wanted something that was the opposite of "VA Pet Peeves" and that's all I could come up with lol.

Anyway, we all know about the VA Pet Peeve thread. But I want to know, what are those little things that put a smile on your face (preferably VA related)? If you're not sure what I mean, I'll post one of mine as an example.

I record lines in Audacity then put them through Adobe Audition then finally Sony Sound Forge (for some reason, Audition won't let me record so I have to use Audacity). But one little thing that always gives me that satisfied feeling is when I'm doing the Adaptive Noise Reduction in Audition and just watching all that unwanted fuzz disappear from the timeline. You see your clip right there, then hit the noise reduction and (in many cases) you see that little fuzz between dialogue just disappear into a straight line. It's a beautiful sight for me. Hopefully you know what I mean.

So, as opposed to VA Pet Peeves, I'd like to hear about those little moments in VAing that give you that little moment of satisfaction. Maybe it's finally finishing mixing a project, turning in the last of your lines, turning in your lines really early, or getting a good critique. No wrong answers here. Let's just all be happy!

when you do a line and play it back to you and you feel like you absolutely nailed it in emotion and voice. i love that feeling when you're just on a roll in voice acting- it gets me all excited inside xD

The things that make me happy are when I'm casted as a character I absolutely love. It's so much fun.

I also get really excited waiting for the final product to come out. Always makes me smile to see who I was working with and all the talent...and kinda squeel a little and go "IT'S ME!!" [noooooooooooob]. ...I dun think I sound like myself alot of the time, ok? >>

I'm the same as you, ConVito. I also record in Audacity and edit in Audition. For the same reason that Audition won't let me record.

I haven't been VA'ing for very long. Just a lil' over a month now but one thing that would put a smile on anyone's face is getting a role that you wanted.

I also get happy when I recieve an auditon for a character and they nail it. Perfect voice, expression and tone. I'm like: "YES."

I'll add another. I'm sure everyone knows this one. That first time you hear yourself in a project. For me it was a Fruits Basket radioplay where I played Kyo. To this day, I consider that one of my favorite roles and one of my best performances.

I'm kind of like that too. I love being able to listen to a recording of mine weeks or even months later and still be satisfied with it. Course, there are some where I just think "Wow! Did I really suck so much back then?"

Um...That feeling of landing a sound effect right in place; or having a producer who organizes and produces things so impeccably that you want to give them a hug. Or the producer that takes the time to write a paragraph of praise for each cast member. :] It's really nice when people take the time to do that.

As a producer, I love when everything goes according to plan while working on a project. Nothing unexpected happens and everything runs smoothy...

As a VA, I enjoy hearing people comment on my work. It's a nice feeling

I love when I FINALLY nail a really looooong line with a bunch of words in it that like to trip me up (for example, "sooth"). When I finally say the entire thing without tripping up and with the right inflection and everything, I just click the stop button and want to sing HALLELUJAH to the heavens!! It's a huge relief. And I feel accomplished.

Also, I recently got a role in a project that I am a HUGE fan of, and the fact that I get to be a part of it now just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :3 I was seriously smiling and giggling the entire day after I got cast
