Greetings folks! Tenken2007 here, and I'm opening up auditions for several supporting roles in my already-in-progress dub of the Hajime no Ippo - The Fighting! season finale! Hajime no Ippo - The Fighting! centers around the world of boxing and one man's efforts to climb to the top in search of meaning.
The episodes to be dubbed focus on the final fight featured in the anime's first season- the Championship Title Bout and rematch between the main character Makunouchi Ippo and his rival, Sendo Takeshi. It spans about four episodes, and is easily the most heart-wrenching arc of the first season. In this epic battle for pride and the Japanese Championship, who will emerge victorious?

AUDITION DEADLINE: 11:59 PM EASTERN TIME, JUNE 22ND, 2009. Reasonable extensions happily given upon request.
- Please record lines separately in 44000 Hz mp3 format. Please include any retakes as well.
- Label each line as "charactername_yourname_linenumber.mp3" When finished, please place all lines in a zip file entitled "Ippo Auditions-Yournamehere."
- Please email all auditions to tenken2007@gmail.com . I will reply with a confirmation message for every audition I recieve.

As my cast list is already partially filled, I am looking to fill up the immense number of supporting roles necessary to make this fandub run. Each one recieves ample amount of screentime, so each would require a fair amount of work on the part of their respective VA's. Without further ado, let's get to the roles open for audition!!
Nekota Ginpachi
An old friend of Coach Kamogawa, Nekota is an elderly man with just a touch of senility in his behavior. Don't underestimate him though- Nekota's a former boxer who can still mix it up despite his age.
VOICE TYPE: Medium-high, showing signs of age. Needs to sound approximately 70 years old. Needs to switch between comical and serious at the drop of a hat.
AUDITION LINES:
Coach Yanaoka
- (Proudly) I'm amazed at how well you've built yourself up. I was gonna offer some advice... but I can tell you don't need it.
- (Slightly confused) Are you the head of Ippo's fan club? (Pause, then excited) Let's heat it up tonight!!
- (Amazed) I... I can't believe it!!!
Coach Yanaoka is the top boxing coach at the Naniwa Boxing Group, and is Sendo's personal trainer. A former boxer himself, Yanaoka got all the way to the number one spot in the O.P.B.F. before being beaten in his Title Challenge Bout. As such, he's hoping Sendo will realize the dream that he himself could never fulfill.
VOICE-TYPE: Medium, needs to sound about 30ish. Ability to reflect high levels of tension is a must.
AUDITION LINES:
MC/Intern/Referee
- (Casual conversation) Wow, it looks like all your fans from Osaka made it tonight!
- (High tension) Impossible! Snap out of it Sendo! Get UP!!
- (High tension, encouraging) Stay close to him! Stay close and you'll eventually break him down!!
That's right, there are three roles combined in this one. Each one is just what they sound like.
VOICE TYPE: Medium-low for all three. Slight age differences are a must. The MC and the Referee must sound about 30, while the intern can be about 20.
AUDITION LINES:
- (Referee- stern, giving an order) Go to your neutral corner! Now!
- (MC- Introducing) In the red corner, from the Naniwa Boxing Group... weighing in at 125-and-a-half-pounds.... Featherweight Champion of Japan... SENDO.... TAKESHI!!!!
- (Intern) Challenger, they're ready for you. It's time.
