Female:
Liadan: Cast to Relick
Accent: American.
Voice type: Soft, shy, tentative, medium to low. She must sound innocent but have an edge as well. Think of Cat Woman from Bat man.
Age: 19.
Bio: This 19-year-old college freshman has just been expelled from Iowa State University for plagiarism. She had wanted to major in abnormal psychology. She is nervous and edgy most of the time. Naturally a shy girl, this social outcast keeps mostly to herself, afraid to strike a friendship with her heart throb from Psychology class, the infamous football player Brad. She suffers from severe OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,) and is deathly afraid of doing something which would displease her all controlling and abusive parents. She decides to hitchhike across Iowa, having no definitive destination in mind, because she fears facing her parents after her expulsion. Her disorder is horrible, making her believe that things should be counted, and always end up at an even number. Things should be straight, neat, placed a certain way, and clean; at all times. She does not handle stress very well. When Brad picks her up in his car as she’s hitchhiking, she tries to hide her disorder from him at all costs. Brad is heading home for the winter break, and upon discovering that she has no place in mind, offers to take her to his rich home. She and Brad become involved in a relationship, but when Brad discovers her notebook, she loses control and… As I’ve said, she does not handle stress well. Until Brad had discovered the notebook with her OCD disorder evidence inside, she had been getting better, but now…
Susan: Casted to xancthus*
Accent: American.
Voice Type: Strong, medium to high, determined.
Age: 19.
Bio: Brad’s best friend. She’s also a freshman at Iowa State, and is majoring in Biology. She’s very smart, but chose to date the wrong guy. Brad’s other best friend David is the wrong guy for Susan. All he wants is a sexual relationship, and Susan comes to the sad conclusion that David has been cheating on her. She is adaptable and does not give up at any odds. Even after David and her break up, she learns to find her feet again, and have fun going out dancing with her friends. Brad is always there to let Susan know what he’s available to listen and help her.
Males:
Brad: (Precasted to Creatures Farley*)
Accent: Muddy British Accent.
Voice type: Soft, low, gentle.
Age: 19
Bio: Brad is the Iowa State University champion football quarterback, majoring in business. He is a 19-year-old freshman. Very popular and looked up to, he holds the school’s entire female population hearts in his hand. Brad is what you would call a “nice guy”. Always caring about his friends, gentle, and kind hearted, he has never been interested in any of the girls at his school. He’s originally from Britain, but moved to California with his rich parents. He has a slightly muddy British accent from living in the United States for a while. In Britain, Brad used to play rugby very well. When he encounters Liadan walking along side the main highway, Brad feels sorry for her and picks her up. He notices her odd nervous quality, but thinks she’s intriguing just the same. He starts falling for her and her strange neat ways. He even consoles her as she breaks down at a bar one night, thinking that a drunken bar man who hit on her is her father out to get her. Brad is a nice guy, and takes Liadan out on her first date. However, when he discovers her notebook, and her obsession with him and the number 1234, he begins to see that things are not what they seem. He sees a terrifying side of Liadan.
Minor characters:

Bio: Liadan’s mother has no distinctive accent. She is American and is in her mid 50’s. She is mentally abusive to her daughter, but mostly copies what her husband says. She’s a very submissive wife, and does not seem to think for herself very much. She mostly tells Liadan to do the dishes and clean the house. She likes to repeat things her husband says to sound smarter than she really is.
Waiter: Precasted to LightningBolt*
Accent: Serbian.

David: Cast to Frizz*
Accent: American, slightly Californian (as in “dude”)

We don’t see the physical abuse in this script, but it’s clearly there. He is obsessed with insisting that he is a good Republican citizen with an upstanding Republican family. He insists that everything Liadan does must be perfect, and that her grades must be A plusses at all times. He often refers to her as stupid, ugly, and useless. She is afraid of him. He had a deep and resonating strict voice, and often yells in anger.

The Bar man: Casted to Pokejedservo*
Accent: Slightly Southern, Redneck.
Voice type: Low, Gravely, always suggestive, evil man (sly, snake like)
