As the title says, I`m a n00b when it comes to voice acting. I`ve done film, theatre, and modeling and would like to branch out.
I know I need to create a voice reel, but I`m wondering if there is a good way to do this on my own. I have good sound equipment and software but I lack the knowledge of where to get background music, scripts, etc.
I`m not sure if there is already a place in the forums with this information, if so I apologize but didn`t see anything.

Any advice one can give would be greatly appreciated!

As far as scripts go, you can either write your own, get someone to write it for you or use lines from productions you've been in for auditions. But since you're just starting out, you don't have any lines to use.

For music, you can use whatever you want to use for background music. I don't know if you want to make a pro demo, because then you'd have to get non-copyrighted music I believe. But if not, you can just use whatever music you see fit for each line in the demo.
that's about all I know, you could probably get someone to mix your demo, or try to mix it yourself. Good luck!

    Hi Grimya and welcome.

On top of ValkyrieCeles' advice, there's a whole thread on this topic here:

If you're looking for roles, I'd recommend also auditioning. There are loads of auditions open all the time and that way you'll definitely get heard by producers.
Not all producers scout for actors, and demo reels by newbies to the forum quite often can get overlooked.
