A filing error usually causes only minor problems - but when the filing clerk is a pot-smoking angel and the files are people's lives, a little mistake goes a long way. When 17-year-old street racer Ash finds himself suddenly female, and Emily wakes up the day after receiving her Harvard acceptance letter to discover that she's a sophomore again, they have more than a few issues to deal with. And Rumisiel, now banished from Heaven, has to try to set things right. Come listen to the latest episode of:

This episode begins a new arc, and introduces three new characters:

Will Knavison (Vashiel) - I've always seen the angels as the comic relief for the story, so how great to have somebody with your comedic talents on board. Vashiel has some scenes that I was afraid would be difficult to translate to pure audio, but you carry them off.

Ravenstone (Harry) - Just the right combination of professionalism and friendly concern, and I love the accent.

Bomberman61 (The Car Salesman) - It is really too bad that yours is a one-shot role, but you own your scene. The way you move from overly sure to completely off-balance is a real treat.

And thanks as well to our continuing performers.

Mippa (Ash) - The long narratives could easily have become boring. You made sure that they did not, while at the same time showing how much anguish they caused your character. You didn't get a lot of time to play happy in this one, but you carry off the put-upon feeling quite nicely.

Doug (Edward) - You provide a nice mature contrast to the younger (as far you know) characters, and show how Dr. Upton's sense of humor allows him to deal with raising a teenager.

Japanimaniac 13 (Emily) - Again, your upbeat energy provides a wonderful contrast to the perpetually put-upon Ash. I am very fortunate that if you could only do one radioplay, you wound up doing this one.

Another great episode. The entire cast is great; it surprises me that Mippa can play a guy so well! Well, a guy trapped in a girls body. The new cast members did a great job mixing with the old cast members.

Keep up the good work you guys! I can't wait for episode 6.

Once again I am thoroughly impressed by this production! Mippa, Quinton and Will did particularly good jobs this time around in my opinion, and the mixing as always is well thought out and sounds great! I am quite intrigued by the intro of Kate
I look forward to the next installment!

Heh, I followed this link in Russ' sig earlier because I always love a good genderbender comedy, and I ended up catching up on the whole webcomic and listening to the episodes. Really entertaining stuff! If only this radioplay could be produced faster, because the comic is really getting good!

    Critiques:

    Mippa....Ash
: I wasn't surprised at all to see you cast in this role. You're always awesome. I think your voice is, at times, a bit too girly, but your acting more than makes up for it. You portray Ash's pent-up frustration quite well.

    Russ....Rumisiel
: Not the voice I'd expect at all. Like everyone else, I imagined a lazy, stoner voice. The James Woods Hades-kind of voice is radically different, but it works remarkably well. You get better with each episode. It's great to see a different take on a character pulled off well.

Japanamaniac13....Emily: Solid performance all around. At times, there was a bit of lacking emotion, but for the most part it was a very well done performance, and the voice fits the character well.

    Will Knavison....Vashiel
: I like the young, innocent voice you use for him. It's just what I'd imagine. Great work, no complaints.

    Ravenstone....Harry
: An excellent performance. The energy was great, and the accent rocked. Nothing more to say.

    R. Douglas Barbieri....Dr. Edward Upton: I'd imagined, like everyone else, a much more animated Dr. Upton, but your take on him works just as well. The way you portrayed him didn't take away from the performance at all, and as I said earlier I always like to see new takes on a character.

Colin....Travis Mullenix: As with most of the cast, well done, fitting, no complaints. Your voice was great in the role.

None of the other roles bothered me either, hence my not commenting. You'll forgive me if I didn't mention you, I listened to all five episodes back-to-back. If you aren't mentioned, you fit your character well and didn't stick out as a problem.

Mixing: I have limited experience with radioplays, but I enjoyed this mixing. I saw the "fixed" versions of 1 and 2, so the original complaints weren't there. I don't have a good ear for audio levels, so nothing bothered me there. The SFX were well-chosen, even for things like the races. The script was adapted quite well, you took things like Ash flipping Tom off and put them into diologue without sounding clunky.

Overall, it was a very solid production and I'm looking forward to seeing the next one. It wasn't flawless, but I can't think of any glaring flaws. Hope a few of the later male characters get put up for audition, because this is a radioplay I'd love to try out for!

    9.5/10
