Gurren Lagann - Episode 12 - Selected Clips

I canceled my Gurren Lagann dub a long time ago, but I decided not to let the people whose lines I did get go to waste. So I decided to put together a little compilation of the scenes in which I had pretty much all of the lines. Sorry to all those that did turn in their lines but didn't end up in this video much, if at all. It just means that I couldn't find a good scene with you that had all the lines in it.

I apologize for what might seem like poor quality compared to my other productions, the SFX and music mixing for this was incredibly difficult, I faced problems all over the place. That said, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to all the voice actors who got their lines in!

After a day in delay of a critique,I've come back with one.^^

Viral - Rashinban,I thought you were perfect for the role for Viral. You fit him to a T and I really love the venom oozing out of your performance. Great job my second villian in command.

Adiane - This was a very interesting and fun experience playing a villian such as Adiane. This is also my first time playing a villian as well which made it twice thhe fun!

Kittan - Zeix,you did a wonderful job as Kittan. Your performance really fit the groove of this character.

Leeron - Another great performance from you,Rashinban. You nailed Leeron very gracefully without fail. Great job!

Simon -Ever since I watched this series in japanese,I always imagined how simon would sound like. I thought your performance really hit the bill perfectly, Koivo. Your performance was very natural with flavor and it really fit with Simon's character really well.

Lordgenome - Vincent the Paladdin,even though you had a short part,you still did Lord Genome justice.

Guame - Same as Vincent's,you did a pretty good job,Zeix for such a small part.

Nia - NikkiKora: I really liked the innocence in your voice for Nia. Very charming and princess-like with I thought translated very well for this character.^^

Rossiu - I don't have much to say about Rossiu except that he was another fun character to play.

Attenborough - Rikun: Your performance was very trigger happy with alot of vigorious energy. I loved this voice you used for him as well.

Gabal - Antfish,even though you had a small part for Gabal,you pulled it off very greatly!

Narrator - Vincent the Paladdin: You make a great narrator dear sir.^^

Mixing: I though the mixing was very top notch. All of the sfx were perfect along with such an awesome cast. I thought that there were a few lipflap issues with some of the characters which wasn't too noticable but otherwise,very great job. It was a pleasure working with you.

Hm...don't have time for a full critique right now, but here's some thoughts.

Good job, first of all. I always love seeing anything Gurren Lagann. And this wasn't half-assed like a lot of GL stuff.

As far as nitpicks:

There were noticibly a lot of SFX missing. I know this really isn't your fault, as GL would be incredibly hard to get all of them for. I still enjoyed it though.

There was also a lot of mic peaking. Once again, understandable. Most people's mics aren't good for loud yelling.

Adiane and Simon were mispronounced a few times.

I really feel like Simon should be deeper. Just a tad. He's fourteen, after all. Hearing him that high makes me think of Ash or a Digimon protagonist. And Nia maybe a tad higher. But the emotion made up for it in both cases. Viral and Leeron were great.

Everyone else did a pretty good job as well.

In the end, it wasn't perfect, but it was certainly something I enjoyed watching. Nice job.

Yeah, I also just noticed that during the scene where Simon breaks out the propeller that all of Adiane's lines are off by nearly a second. That's what I get for doing a rush job.
