  1. #1 Merry Christmas Tamtu Bui! (Now With Cast Commentary)
    ***************NEW EDIT (12-24-05)******************

1 year ago today I released what has gone down as what I consider to be the best production I've put together. Even if there have been technical improvements in it's sequal, this one still is very special to me. I said this before, but this isn't MY production. This is very much a product of the entire cast. It manages to parody a beloved classic, but also parodies us and the very world we visit when we log onto these boards. Everyone found a way to really settle into their parts and make things their own and add to the humor and feeling without taking away from anything.

Since I added this to the Wcasting line up it's become obvious that many of you have found a place in your heart for the hard work we've put together here. I still am baffled by the amount of love I've seen for us and what we've done and I cannot possibly thank you enough for giving us a chance.

One reason this rp is special to me is because it focuses on the three meanings of this holiday season. If you have listened to it then you know what I feel they are. I agree with Tamtu's realization most though. I love you guys, and I am immensely thankful I have such awesome people in my life. Christmases may be different for everyone. Some may have the same routine over and over again. Some may change things up from time to time. For some, Christmas may never truely be the same again. However it manages to turn out for you, as long as you have us you'll never have to have JUST yourself a merry little Christmas. Throw a yule log on for the VAA too.

It's this reason that brings us back. I felt we should take a look at this again and record a commentary for you guys. I did this sorta thing before several years ago with Distortion episode one and while it didn't go too terribly well...it was a lot of fun. So a handful of us got together and pulled this completely chaotic thing out of our collective arses. It may be hard to understand at times due to so much going on at once, but in all it should be fun. The link is located below.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

    ************************************************** ****

ok, so I kept this secret from some of you, but the vast majority ended up finding out eventually. It took me a long time, but finally...at 4:30am on Xmas eve I'm done...everything is uploaded. Those that have been waiting for this, I hope it was worth your wait. I cannot express in words how much I enjoyed working on this project. The cast was fantastic, and the amount of input I got on the script and everything is just...I am so proud of all of you. I really just can't say that enough.

This is my third xmas rp so far, and by far my best (and longest) one. Now this didn't turn out to be as long as orignally thought, but I think that's best. who wants to listen to 40 min. of rp in one sitting? Serena strongly helped my writing throughout the entire process and many others contributed their ideas. Masahiko and St. NIck lent some of their musical talents to the rp in parts as well. This isn't just my rp, this is a collaborative effort. This has been some hard work, and it almost looked like we wouldn't make it in time for xmas, but it's here...we did it, and on xmas eve no less.

There's so much more to say about what went on durring the making of this, but that's for the commentary track we'll release later. For now just enjoy it! It's a parody of A Charlie Brown Christmas" and has more in-jokes than you can shake a stick at. Infact there are so many in=jokes that newbies might not get a lot of it, but that doesn't mean they won't enjoy it. Hell, see how many in-jokes you can find! and post the number in your comments!

As for the cast, I'm going to post who was in it below, but I won't post who they were made to represent in the Charlie Brown movie. I'll make a separate post about that later. See if you can figure out who represents who.

OMG LOL! Even though I just came here only a few mounts ago but I managed to get some of the inside jokes. I was laughing my head off when Tamtu started giving the actors a lecture and you used the music from his Newbies Guide.

Does Masahiko playing, "To Zanarkand" count? 'Cause that's like... his theme. >D He plays it constantly!

As usual, my review is while I'm listening!

LOL Tamtu makes the perfect Charlie Brown..."you need to be tested for ADD". lmao

Aw, the music is so cute and fitting. <3

    LOL at Regan's Woodstock voice.

    Omg, I want the Fushigi Yuugi box sets. v.v;

lol! "cash equivolent in tens and twenties only please" n.n

lol I can't believe you kept the woohoo in during the yay line!

LOL at the "sucking up" part...so true. @.@

lol Lucien's so protective of his sir. =O

Nikki does remind me of Lucy in an odd way...teehee

LOL at the scripts part, that's so cute.

LMAO at the tree guy's voice! Tom's voice is so sexi in this. *purr*

lol wtf, FF music for christmas?

I really like how the scene when Tamtu brings the tree back, and everyone gets pissy with him. =D Nice production job there.

AWW, this was such an absolutely adorable production, why dock! I like how it didn't try to be over the top funny, and has some serious moments in it. And all the voices were wonderful, the main characters sounding a LOT like their cartoon counterparts (Tamtu as Charlie Brown, Nikki as Lucy, Tom as Linus, etc.), which is great. Aw, I love it! <3 Great job!

I have to say Edwyn had some serious hilarious moments with his mighty "cloud of hentai." Everytime Edwyn would release a panic scream I just kept on laughing. I was hoping for a "Just Try and Say It" refferense in the radioplay. That would have been great!

Ydoc, you did such an awesome job with this!! XD It's a beautifully hilarious piece brought to life!

All of the other cast members were excellent. The acting was totally believeable, it felt like we really were all there together. There were so many moments I was laughing and cracking up at the jokes, even at a weary 3 am. I was really impressed with everyone's delivery of lines, it was natural and perfect for the scenes.

I'm really glad this idea worked out so well. I feel this is truly one of the best radio plays ever and I'm honored to be a part of it. <333

    Have a Happy Holiday everyone!
