    Finally had the motivation to finish my demo reel. I've had this sitting around half finished for a good while, and i've had the urge over the past week to finish it up.

    Clicky

    I had so much trouble coming up with lines and etc... i'm terrible at those kinds of things xD

    Anywho, enjoy and all constructive criticism is more than welcome

    Hey there, great demo reel! You have a good voice, and it was a really good quality reel - I didn't hear any pops or clicks or anything like that. The mixing was great! A few of the voices sounded similar, and they all stayed close to the same range, however. One suggestion I have is pushing your range, trying out the super-high, squeaky animal side-kick voice or the really low, bad-guy voice. Throwing in some distinctive characters (though I recognized 'flame on!' right away, haha) might be an idea as well.

    Otherwise, it was a great reel. Really good emotional range, too. =) Good job!

    You have a great voice for the typical male lead character in an anime - and I mean that as a total compliment, heh.

    Some nitpicks, criticism and the like:

    -To me, the "flame on" line seemed kind of random and broke up the flow of the demo reel. I think I know what you were trying to do, but it was kind of too short. Plus you had a similar-type line earlier in your reel.

    -I liked how you ended the reel... the pizza delivery guy line was funny.

    -I want to hear more voices from you. It just seemed like I was only hearing two... maybe three different voices. Most of the lines sounded like you were using the same voice over and over. Mix it up a little and experiment to widen your range.

    -I appreciate the different emotions you tried to portray, but I'd like to hear some more lines that are angry/sad; there seemed to be a lack of it.

    Hope that helps!

    Yes, my range is pretty... miniscule at the moment, aha. I'll have to get to work on improving that by my next demo reel (whenever that is xD).

    Thanks for your comment!

    Haha, i take that as a compliment!

    I see what you mean with the "Flame on" line breaking up the flow, it was a line that i felt was difficult to implement into the demo, but i felt needed to be in there ^^;

    I think after i had initially posted this reel, i listened back to it again and started to think "Oh, i could've done that slightly differently" and things along those lines, and one thing that i did notice was exactly that i didn't attempt any kind of sad line, aha. Just one of those things i'll have to rememer for next time ^^

    Thanks for commenting!

    Pretty nice reel you got going on here Seo. Couple things, the car thing and other sfx were nice, but to me, seemed like time wasted where you could have gotten a quick voice in. Even if it's for a short time, every second counts imo. You're trying to sell your voice not a production. There are some sections where the music kinda overpowers the reel and hides you a bit. Of course this is rare and not a huge deal, i'd still consider either lowering some of the music, or sidechaining the music mix with your vocal.

    I'd leave mix effects out the door on a reel so clients can get an idea of what you naturally can sound like, not what you can do behind your mix desk. They need vocal talent, not an engineer. Variety is also too minimal in the reel. While yes there are clear tonal differences between sections, there's not too much in character variation from character to character except on one or two parts. Try separating your reel into ranges. That's what I usually do. Well, now I'm at the point where I've identified a voice with a character. Anyway, this should help in not creating a reel out of pure randomness with the purpose of creating a reel, but creating one that shows the natural limits of your voice.

    Sound wise, there seems to be something strange going on with the vocals (almost warbbling). It's subtle, but it's identifiable. Consider correcting.

    Lol needless to say I'm being really picky lol. Great job and keep up the great work. You have skill so dont let it getcha down!

    BTW,

    You have a really nice voice. I don't see the lack of range as a problem, because all of the voices you did in your range were different emotion wise. The voices that stood out to me were the serious sounding ones, those were delivered quite well.

    One thing I noticed with your pronunciation is that when you had to pronounce a 'th' sound, you made an 'f' sound instead. If you work on that, your diction is perfect otherwise. And I would have liked to hear a voice with your regular voice, because I love your accent! It if you add a few voices with your accent into the reel, then it'll add a whole other dimension to your voice. But I might be thinking of someone else, so if I am just disreguard this part of the critique ^^

    You should do more super hero lines, because your "Flame on!" was awesome! Great job with this reel, I look forward to hearing more from you.

    hey this is awesome. Can I ask you a question, how do you get the music in the backround while you are talking? -_- I would really like to make a demon reel. Is there like a place to download the music?

    @ValkyrieCeles: Haha, i still have problems with my pronunciation and i've heard that alot, but that's just one of those things i have to wrok on and hopefully improve xD

    However, you're the first person who likes my accent, so thank you! xD Super-hero lines have always been a favourite of mine. I blame the many child-hood years watching Superman ^^;

    @VeilofSecrets: I'm sure if you check the tutorials section, you'll find info on Demo Reels, i would explain myself, but i'll end up rambling on ^^; Google is also your friend in terms of music. Sorry that i couldn't be of more help xD

    I've gotta say, I like your voice.

    You could do better with range, but you've got that kind of voice that fits those reckless boys who happen to be main characters, so that's fine. ^o^ Although I personally liked the first line (conceited bozos make me smile), your Flame On! was great!

    I understand what you mean about the 'Oh, could've done that differently.' I listen to everything I do and think that I could do that correctly...and once I do that, I should do THAT correctly...>.< Overall, making a demo reel is hard to do, but yours is excellent. ^0^

    Seo, your demo was very good! A few comments for improvements.

    I like the first line a lot, but I think you can play with it even further. Make it more flirtatious. I do have to say you did a good job with the inflection, what most people, including myself, don't pay attention to.

    "Flame On" was funny, but it was a little distracting ^_^;

    Other than that I think you did a good job. In fact I think I have a lot of respect to you since you do have an accent like me and while I did manage to recognize that, it wasn't major and your performances were great!
