Major Characters
Saetwo
Short bio: The protagonist of this story. She is a happy and carefree Zoombini until terrible events occur.
Voice Type: Medium-high to Medium.
Audition Line #1: Would you stop being such a pansy, Echae (Ek-kei)? If the Bloats really are up to something and we find out, we won’t get in trouble! We’ll be heroes!
Audition Line #2: (urgent) I can’t – Mom, I told you, it’s the Bloats! They’re lying to us! They want to take over the entire island and I’m flying away from them because they’re chasing after me!
Audition Line #3: (enraged) YOU KILLED HER!
Audition Line #4: (fervently and about to cry) I know it’s not an excuse, but I know why I said all those things. I – I was jealous, because. . . I care about you so much.
Audition Line #5: It’s our features! They’re allergic to certain features! See, Conneda’s got sunglasses like Xekrai (Zhek-rai), and I’ll bet the left cliff is allergic to both of them. Touli and I both have ponytails, and the right cliff is allergic to both of us! We just have to find out what makes each one sneeze, and we’ll get everyone across!
Xekrai (Zhek-rai)
Short bio: A so-called leader who looks up to his father, Iadwi, who is the mayor of Zoombini Isle. He's authoritative, but hot-headed, stubborn and will usually boss everyone around him... much to the annoynce and dislike of Echae.
Voice type: Medium to Medium-low.
Audition Line #1: ‘Kids’ means twelve and under, you dolt. I’m thirteen.
Audition Line #2: (bitterly) Of course I’m worried! But it’s not like any of those know-it-alls in there care what I think. (pauses) Come on, guys, let’s get out of here. I don’t want to stick around here any longer than we have to.
Audition Line #3: (with false modesty) We-he-hell, it wasn’t that hard. You, Onyx, won’t take anbody with a ponytail or a spring, and Crystal over there won’t take anybody with sunglasses or a green nose. Anybody could have figured it out.
Audition Line #4: (angered) I’LL SHOW YOU!!
Audition Line #5: Fine. We’ll wait for the adults to show up. But who knows how long that’ll take? What if they don’t find us? What if they never even got away from Zoombini Isle?
Uloobu
Short bio: A Zoombini who is usually picked on by Xekrai and his two underlings. Saetwo & Echae appreciate him a lot and it's the reason he considers them good friends.
Voice Type: Medium.
Audition Line #1: But I see you two a lot. You’re always together. You two must be best friends.
Audition Line #2: (dejected) I sure wish I had a best friend. I wish I had any friend. But there’s no chance of that ever happening.
Audition Line #3: (happy) Gosh, thanks for taking me along, Saetwo.
Audition Line #4: Oh, sure. Besides giving us a very stern talking-to, they put guards all up and down the beach. In the watchtowers too. But I’ll tell you, it’s nothing a few well-aimed rocks to the head couldn’t take care of.
Audition Line #5: (sad, but determined) That’s awful. I hope we find Saetwo so I can tell her how sorry I am.
Tyscene
Short bio: Xekrai's younger sister. She and Xekrai quarrel a lot.
Voice Type: High to Medium-high.
Audition Line #1: Yeah I wanna make something of it! The next time you think of obnoxious, I think you should look in a mirror!
Audition Line #2: (snarling) I’ll tell you why! My idiot brother left me behind!!
Audition Line #3: (fuming & hyper-angry) Echae, you idiot! You never said there were Fleens here!!
Audition Line #4: Yeah, yeah. Learn from experience, think outside the box, whatever.
Audition Line #5: We’ve been doing this all wrong. We’ve just been going up and down the rows. What we should be doing is filling up the middle first! Right?
Touli
Short bio: A Zoombini who assists Saetwo and her friends on the quest to find new civilization.
Voice Type: Medium-high to Medium.
Audition Line #1: Leaders have to have self-confidence. Otherwise they’re not good leaders.
Audition Line #2: (proud & happy) I knew he could do it! Xekrai’s the best leader ever!
Audition Line #3: (worried & scared) Saetwo, where were you?! You’ve been gone all day! We thought something had happened to you!
Audition Line #4: (heavily concerned) Saetwo, we have to talk to you. We know you’re all upset about Echae and stuff, but you’re taking this way too far.
Audition Line #5: (somewhat convinced) Okay, but only because you usually figure this stuff out, Saetwo. If anyone else asked us I wouldn’t do it.
Conneda
Short bio: Another Zoombini who assists Saetwo and her friends on the quest to find new civilization.
Voice Type: Medium.
Audition Line #1: (crestfallen) Thousands of miles? We’re gonna have to travel for thousands of miles?
Audition Line #2: Maybe so, but he is a good leader. He’s smart, and he knows what he’s doing. I think we should listen to him.
Audition Line #3: Yeah, the Bloats probably locked them up really good after all that. What d’you think, Xekrai? Should we keep looking or start heading out again?
Audition Line #4: (cheerful) It’s even got FOOD!! FOODFOODFOODFOODFOOD!!!
Audition Line #5: (hissing) Way to jinx us, Saetwo.
Iake
Short bio: One of Xekrai's subordinates.
Voice Type: Medium. Note that if you plan to audition for both of Xekrai's cronies, be sure to sound different.
Audition Line #1: Are you really that worried, boss?
Audition Line #2: (panting & heaving) Hey, boss. Are you sure you can’t carry your own stuff?
Audition Line #3: (timid) Uh, miss Tyscene? ...Is this a bad time?
Audition Line #4: (suggestive) Maybe we should ask Tyscene. She’ll know what to do.
Audition Line #5: (exclaiming) How the heck was all that supposed to help us?! All you did was dump us in the river!
Weiswyo (Weis-wo)
Short bio: Another one of Xekrai's subordinates.
