Positions have been cast. There will be more positions in due time, but I will make a new thread for them once they become available. In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions about the project.
DRAKE Online. A free online role playing game that's been under development for over a year. We expect to hit Beta in 3 months. Now's the time to start looking for voice talent. Interested? The Game Design Document (complete with story and character information) is available on the website, or upon request..
WAV or MP3 is fine for auditions. We have some format standards for the actual recordings, but for audition pieces, I'm not picky.

NB: These lines are not cast in stone, so feel free to take creative liberties if you see fit, especially if it helps bring out flavour in the character.
The five main NPCs are listed below. There are roles for about a dozen others, but these are the essential ones.
Bio: The blacksmith, and one of the few survivors of the attack ten years ago. Life-long friend, Wilfig has always been that master of the forge. He used to make primarily farming tools, and axes for cutting timber. Nowadays, he's tuned his craft to producing the much-needed weapons for the town's defense.
Voice type: A large man, still jovial, with a Scottish accent. (Fake Scottish is fine.)
Line 1: What'll it be today?
Line 2: You know where to find me if you change yer mind.
Comedy Line: There can be only one.
Age: Unknown. Old, like Gandolf old.
Bio: An old man, wise and humble. Isalael wasn't born in Singlebrook, but no one can remember a time when he wasn't living there. Also, no one can remember him looking any younger. His house was rebuilt after the attack, and it serves as a makeshift hospital. It was Isalael who kept the main character safe during the attack by rendering him unconscious. Unfortunately, though under Isa's care, the character's mother passed away while he was unconscious. The character never forgave Isa for robbing him of his chance to say goodbye. The character goes to Isa for healing and to buy potions.
Voice type: Old but not weak. Very learned.
Line 1: Good to see you.
Line 2: May these keep you well.
Comedy Line: You shall not pa.. oh, hello.
Name: Finneus Tanwood
Bio: Owner of "Tanwood's Tavern & Inn." Everyone just calls him Tanwood. A distant relative of the original owner who was killed in the attack. While his personality is questionable, and he is kind of sleazy, he had done a fine job of fixing up the place and even encouraging others to once again travel to the town. He has since expanded on the original tavern by adding a casino and extended the bar to span three rooms. The character will most likely visit Tanwood to purchase a room for the evening, or to play the games.
Voice type: Not quite "a rat," but definitely underhanded, shady, untrustworthy. A conartist.
Line 1: What'll you have, friend?
Line 2: A fine decision!
Comedy Line: Remember, if the room's a rockin', that costs extra.
Name: <varies> (Town Leader)
Gender: Male / Female
Bio: A generic npc of alternating sex (this character actually changes many times during the life of the game) who is in charge of training the warriors and organizing the town guard. The character will go to this NPC to check his experience progress toward the next level, and to challenge him to a fight in order to attain the next level. Each of these will need to be recorded by each gender.
Voice type: (S)he is the current leader of the town, and should sound confident.
Line 1: Back already?
Line 2: Ready yourself. I won't hold back.
Comedy Line: Mortal Combat!
Bio: The amoursmith. Wilfig was reluctant to let a woman share his forge, but he quickly got used to the idea, and now Corrin's shop is adjacent to his in the forge. She came after the Dragon attack and helped with the rebuilding. Since the town now needed to take up arms against the ever-increasing monsters, she decided to stay and lend her talents as a skilled armourer. Corrin is a young woman, but hardened by tough years and a constant striving for respect from others who think smithing is not a woman's work.
Voice type: Edgy. Eager to prove herself. Somewhat confrontational. A blunt girl who always speaks her mind.
Line 1: Okay, but don't come crying to me if you get hurt.
Line 2: Looking for something?
Comedy Line: What I need is a good pounding. I mean "this!" What THIS needs!
