Series Description: Takuto wants to become a professional magician, but he's failed the entrance exams for the school he wants to get into 3 years in a row. Returning to Greenfield, he will try for the 4th year.
In the world of Takuto "Professional Magician" is a lot less like the Harry Potter term, and a lot more like a way to describe a Kung Fu artist that is able to cast magic to aid him in a "match". 'Fighting' or 'Battling' is played as a sport, like a game though not expressed in the dark way you would think; rather a fun/bright/exciting game than a game to the death.
To become a Pro, it would mean you have to make it onto the rosters in the 'Big Leagues'. The World of Takuto has definitely been inspired by sports and competition, in that the uniqueness of every individual is brought out through their own styles/technique of 'play'.
The magic of the world works pretty simply. The astrological sign you were born under determines your element. There are 3 for each of the 4 elements. Fire is: Aries, Leo, Saggitarius. Earth is: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Wind (replaced with air for the sake of it's physical attributes) is: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, and Water is: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
The astrological signs are also said to inhibit personality traits, although for the most part that is left out within this series. If personalities make sense astrologically to you, it is most likely through coincidence. -_o'
In the very beginning of creating this production and even now, my goal was to take the competitive firey nature of the Manga/Anime's Naruto and Bleach (manga prefered) and mix them with the light-heartedness of Love Hina and/or Negima.
In other words, the series is a Shounen-Shoujo Cross-breed, and this is able to be accomplished by the styles of music that I have mixed into the story. Openings are Shoujo creating that "Fresh Bright Blue Sky and Clean Spring Air" feeling, Endings are Mystery Genre, creating that "Midnight Magic" feeling which I think is perfect for saying 'good night' (ending the show) and the story itself is Shounen like Naruto.
That description as well as the following Videos of Episode 1 should be enough to get you started in getting the feel for Takuto.

Other Notes:
Thanks to a funky codec on fades there is a purple blur that comes and goes. ;/ Also, when Juno and Takuto move in some scenes they are following by a purple aura. I am keeping this in anyway for Episode 1, as it will not effect the voice acting.

Takuto Episode 1 Complete!!
After promising an Original Visual Production for so long I've finally finished Episode 1 of Takuto! Hurrah! This is not an Animatic, a Storyboard, a "Rough Sketch", this is the actual thing this time, and I am VERY excited!
Takuto is about as close as I will ever get to producing my own, full length, honest to goodness Anime or Manga. It is the closest I will ever get to accomplishing my dream of becoming an Anime Composer.
The production has, for the most part, been ready in Story and Music form for quite some time. The PROBLEM has always been the visual form. I have been looking for the longest time for a way to be able to create a full-length Shounen Anime.
I've even read before "Creating your own Anime Series would be the equivalent of building a car from scratch."
Well, after 2 1/2 years I've decided to settle with having the Visual form be in RPG Maker XP. The program is very akin to a 'story-telling-utility'. In a Video Game, the resources are re-used and re-used, making it able to produce a long story in it's very nature. (And people have actually accomplished this before as well which is a big plus)
The features of this production include:
- Completely Custom Visuals (that is: everything has been hand-painted, no rips)
- Completely Custom Audio including a Soundtrack that has more than 180+ Tracks of music spanning over 6 Seasons and 12 CDs.
- A project that has been in the works for over 2 1/2 years, now.
I am going to create 72 Episodes in all. My goal is to finish these 72 Episodes in under 3 years; though once I finished the resources for the first episode the process of creation was SO amazingly fast, that I could even crank out an Episode a week! (less than 2 years, the production could be finished!)
Will all 72 Episodes be voice acted? It's probably impossible as it would really slow everything down. x__x' My plan, for now, is for there to be Voice Acting every 4 Episodes, (Ep1, 5, 9, 13, etc..) though this is subject to change at any time. If anyone at any time would like to take up the VA producing part (casting, mixing) please chat with me personally over AIM: MarkHansAvon. This spot will be open within the future, as I will at some point no longer have the time to mix the voice acting.
I just want to for the first episode to create a very good first impression.
