The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi - Audio Novel
"Not your average Japanese High School Story! Kyon is a first year student at North High. Sitting behind him is an intelligent, energetic and very bored Suzumiya Haruhi who introduces herself as having no interest in "normal humans" and that any aliens, time travelers, sliders, or espers should come forward and join her. After that short story synopsis, it is my duty to inform you that casting for "The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi (Volume 4 of 9 ONGOING)" is open.
The Light Novel is the original basis for the Anime and, of course, is pretty lengthy for being so "light". However, it is because of the demand for a season 2 of Haruhi that I have decided to do this.
Voice acting in this project is vital. It's crucial that you're passionate about this as it all depends on the quality of your voice (AND the quality of your microphone). It isn't essential that you know about the background of characters but it always helps.
This project is, long story short, simply for the fans.
It's pretty intensive and has A LOT OF LINES so if you're going to audition then make sure you have a very relaxed schedule!
So, with all the disclaimers out the way, allow me to introduce the roles, audition lines and more!
Haruhi Suzumiya
Haruhi Suzumiya, a first year student at North High School (in novels 1-, and second year (in the 9th and latest novel), can be characterized as funny, eccentric, and somewhat unpredictable. In the series, she is introduced declaring her interests in aliens, espers and time travelers and does not care for 'ordinary' human beings. The last thing on her mind is a normal high school life.
Voice Actor - Rina Chan
Kyon
Although Haruhi Suzumiya is the title character, the story is told from Kyon's point of view. He narrates with sarcastic commentary on the various absurdities of Haruhi, club activities and events related to Haruhi.
Voice Actor - Kenny
Yuki Nagato
Yuki has a very stoic and introverted personality, preferring simple body language rather than speaking. When prompted to speak, she does so in a very concise manner, always speaking in a monotone and displaying a dispassionate expression. Shy, quick and monotone.

Mikuru Asahina
A shy and timid girl with a childish naïveté, Mikuru is depicted as kind, caring and thoughtful. She easily gets scared or flustered, more so in times whenever Haruhi is involved and makes her do embarrassing things. Apparently prone to daydreaming, she can also be rather clumsy at times.

Audition Lines:
"I cannot explain it in a way you would comprehend. Our STC Theory is built on specific concepts. It's too difficult to convey it in speech for you to understand. Do you still remember the time when I first told you my true identity?"
"At that time, didn't I say something that you could hardly understand? That's the point. If I had explained, I would just make you even more confused,"
"This is a concept that cannot be explained in speech, it can only be conveyed in ways other than that. Do you understand?"
Itsuki Koizumi
Itsuki is constantly smiling and always speaks in a formal and polite manner. He is also prone to giving long and detailed explanations, usually illustrated by exaggerated hand gestures.
Voice Actor - Skraggy
Taniguchi (the one on the left)
Taniguchi is comically lascivious. He talks with a cynical tone, much like Kyon, and is always humorous with his dialogue. Quite loud and obnoxious, but lovable for it.

Kyon's Sister
She is carefree, happy and playful. Just like a regular little kid. There's not much more to her than that.

Audition Lines:
"Mom said you should eat some breakfast properly."
"Shami too! Time to eat!"
(Calling the cat to eat kind of like it's a song. Just make up a tune.) "Shamiiii, Shamiiii. It is time to eat!"
Tsuruya
Tsuruya is the hyperactive friend of Mikuru notable for her loud voice, knee-length hair, and prominent tooth. She possesses a cheerful and friendly disposition. She is also prone to long fits of unrestrained and intense laughter at things she considers even the slightest bit humorous.

"Stop jumping on people! Look, my Mikuru is shaking from head to toe!"
"Are you a first-year from the Mikuru Fan Club? There are procedures to everything, young lad. Rushing things doesn't impress me."
"Hey, Mikuru! Ah, whatever. And you, young lad, keep your otaku stench in check! Mikuru-chan is pretty timid, you know! If you dare to do anything to her again, you'll feel my hair-standing fury!"
Ryoko Asakura
That's right, Ryoko Asakura. If you don't want spoilers then I won't give them to you. However, I need a voice actor for her. She's polite and well spoken. A more talkative version of Nagato. It's interesting to note that her cheerful personality doesn't falter, even at the moment of her own demise.

Audition Lines:
"Good morning. Are you awake today? Good, if that's the case."
"But just having your eyes open doesn't necessarily mean that you are awake. Having a firm grip of the situation with your eyes would be the first step to understanding. How are you doing? Are you grasping the situation well?"
"...Seems like you are still not awake. Here is my advice: Go see a doctor soon! Go before it is too late!"
Kunikida (the one on the right)
Kunikida is much quieter than Taniguchi with the latter doing most of the talking when the two are around. Kunikida plays a minor role and does not contribute much dialogue.

Audition Lines:
(Caster's note: Think along the lines of Izzy from Digimon. That kind of voice actor seems perfect. It may sound retarded, but trust me.)
"Seems like you are taking a break. Mind if I sit here?"
"Somehow the cold has suddenly turned so popular. Thank God I’m not infected, though."
"Symptoms of the cold spreading were already noticeable a week ago! It doesn’t look like the flu, but it might be better if it were the flu. Since there are specific remedies nowadays."
And that concludes the casting. It's hard to think that such a small number of characters could compose such a wonderful series but it's more so the voice of inner truth, the narrator, who will have to push things along for the other characters.
So, with the casting out of the way, here's a few things you need to know.
*The Deadline is the 15th of October. Because most of the main cast is already decided, the recording of lines will begin before that period.
*If you're ever in doubt of what a character is supposed to sound like, do a little research about them.
*If the above doesn't work, watching the anime (dubbed or undubbed) will prove handy too.
*Have a good microphone. I can't stress the importance of this. If you have a fan, turn it off. If you have a window, close it. Microphones pick up EVERYTHING. I can try my best to make the quality of your recordings better but you'll have to do the best you can to keep the background noise as low as possible. This, unfortunately, may lead to you not getting the role you want.
*Keep your auditions organized.
Save your auditions as character_line#_yournamehere and put them in a RAR file.
