Project information - A full cast audio book production - two episodes aprox. 10-15mins each to be produced concurrently, the second and third in a trilogy started by Motherhood <http://lstok-silvertongue.blogspot.com/>. This is planned to kick-start a series of similar productions, Audio Flash Fiction, entitled "Tales of Death and Honour" examining the concepts of bravery, honour and ethics mostly (but not totally) using the counterpoint of the Klingon viewpoint. Production deadline is Dec 1 and the three will be presented as a trilogy on Day 3 of The Twelve Trek Days of Christmas, Dec 19
Audition deadline - Auditions close Friday, Sep 26, judging will be that weekend and the successful cast will be notified by email by Monday. The productions need to be recorded, mixed and ready for Dec 1 to be presented on Dec 19 - production deadlines are NON-NEGOTIABLE on this project since you can't postpone Christmas!
-Record in 44100hz 16-bit Stereo MP3
-Save the lines as "charactername_yourname_linenumber.mp3" as shown below
-Send your auditions to <kirok.lieferikson@gmail.com>
-Quality of recording will be a factor in decision, unfortunately a *great* delivery on a tinny mike is of less use to me than a *good* delivery that is well recording. Pops, static, feedback are definite negatives, I'll arrange a mike check with the sound engineer first thing after acceptance. I'll try to give feedback on audition performance FYI.
Characters
T'Lor
Age: Late Twenties (in human terms)
Bio: Male Vulcan starship captain, the head of the L'Stok trading guild. Major role in both episodes (possibly continuing)
Voice type: Classic Vulcan! Perfect enunciation, strong timbre (but not necessarily deep), ostensibly unemotional but able to deliver the audio equivalent of Nimoy's raised eyebrow. Episode 1: Idealistic, Episode 2: A leader
Audition line 1: My purpose here is not to confront you, but to take the child to safety. If you have any feeling for him you might wish to bid him farewell.
Audition line 2: Then so be it! This feud must end now before the blood of more innocents is spilled!
Klingon
Age: Various
Bio: Male/Female Klingon warriors before/during combat situation. In a crowd scene I want insults and cries of encouragement. Recurring supporting roles.
Voice type: In Klingon! ... and I mean tlhIngan Hol! Here are two examples (more here <http://www.geocities.com/Athens/8853/curse.html> and here <http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/7893/phrase.htm> )
Audition line 1: Qapla' Balth je'
Audition line 2: Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam
... of course, this is aimed at Klingon fans! The main requisites are delivery and originality but they must be clearly recorded. Contact me if you have no experience recording.
Although this is an audio book, I want dramatic deliveries. I'm looking at producing a six-part season of short, 10 minute fan productions every six months in the new year, to be released monthly.
Cheers
Kirok of L'Stok
