    "On The Rise"
Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog || Act II Opening

Dr. Horrible just lost the girl of this dreams to his nemesis, Captain Hammer. Cue duet of awesomeness.

    Dr. Horrible: tomatocars
    Penny: Jaela

    [STREAM|2:49]

    Side notes:
    • Well... this is awkward. When Jaela got her part in Lucien and Nikki posted their version XP I swear we aren't copying them haha
    • That being said, I encourage more people to duet this song!! It's so much fun.
    • I made the karaoke track so if you want it PM me about it.

quartet songs are pretty common - they're called "Barbershop"
A filing error usually causes only minor problems - but when the filing clerk is a pot-smoking angel and the files are people's lives, a little mistake goes a long way. When 17-year-old street racer Ash finds himself suddenly female, and Emily wakes up the day after receiving her Harvard acceptance letter to discover that she's a sophomore again, they have more than a few issues to deal with. And Rumisiel, now banished from Heaven, has to try to set things right. Come listen to the latest episode of:

Oh yay! It's finished! I love what you did with the mixing. It makes me sound like I don't suck at singing. XD
No seriously though, I think I'm improving with my singing. I'm glad that we were able to do this. tomatocars, I'll be sure to call upon you again sometime when I have a crazy random urge to sing a cool duet. XD
Feel free to give me advanced critiques, y'all, 'cause I'm trying to learn how to sing well. =]

Well since Jaela told me to be a critic, here goes.

    tomotocars:

First I must say you did a really good job on your solo, I really liked it. Your voice closely resembled Neil Patrick Harris himself, however there were some small parts that could have been better.

In the line "If I throw poison in the water main" when you sang the part "poison in the water main" your voice rose out of the steady tune you had from the beginning.

In the line "But it's plain to see" when you sang the word "see" your voice was straining.

    Now for Jaela:

I can also say that you did a good job on your solo. I really liked how you sang the last two lines ("Some kind of harmony" and "Is on the rise"). However there were also some problems.

In the lines "Look around" and "We're living with the lost and found" I didn't really like it. Your voice was a bit, what is the word, raspy? I can't really find a word to describe it. But anyhow, you got better after that.

In the line "With hope, you can do your part" when you sang the part "with hope" your voice broke away from the song's tune a little.

In the line "'Cause it seems to me" you were straining at the "me" part.

Now for the part where the voices come together.

Overall it was good. There were parts where the timing was off, but that's too be expected with this project.

My only problem was the second last lines, "But it's plain to see" and "Cause it seems to me" those lines weren't together and you both strained at the words "see" and "me".

And that's my review/criticism/opinion/response/etc. Usually when I review something I tend to go over it with a "fine toothed comb" (pardon the extremely cliche and overused line). Jaela did say she would hold me to my word about that.

But these are my opinions. Whether or not you accept them is really up to you.

Also, I forgot to say good job to both of you on this project. You both accomplished something that I doubt I could ever accomplish with my level of skill.

Good job once again. I apologize for being harsh if I was, I hope to see more from both of you.

Okami has pretty much said everything that I would have said. But I just do have to say, you do sound quite a bit like NPH, tomatocars!

Also, the drum pattern sounds rather odd and misplaced. That's the most distracting part of this.

and I know that God will never waste my pain.
