Oh good gosh. His eyes are red. RED. What happened to the beautiful blue outfit and fingerstripes??? D:
About Tim: I don't even know. I've been calling him the Swan Queen, those stupid feathers. And the way they're talking about him makes it sound like he never was the third Robin.
Babs- oh Babs, oh what have they done to you. De-aged, and not disabled. Ad now you're back in a batsuit, fresh out of college. I loved her as Oracle. She was amazing in Birds of Prey, and she was a great asset. And now, poor Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain. Did they not exist? Steph was never Robin, nor Batgirl? And I haven't heard a dang thing about Cass.
And one more thing. Damian doesn't get along with his father well. He hates him. How is a team dynamic going to work here?

But yes, Batman Inc lightens my mood a bit.

After reading Secret Warriors and S.H.I.E.L.D., I've gotten really interested in Jonathan Hickman's work. So I just read Red Mass for MARS last night and the book didn't make any damn sense. It was enjoyable, though!

I've ordered off of Amazon Hickman's other books Nightly News, Transhuman, and Pax Romana which have already shipped and I should be receiving soon. Good times.

I think Nightly News is good fun but nearly incomprehensible. It's just laid out badly which is a failing of Hickman when he's on art (SHIELD suffers from this sometimes). Transhuman and Pax Romana are fantastic, though.
Because I'll be pulverizing you sometime over the weekend.

And the cleaning lady... cleans up... dust. She dusts. And she has weekends off, so... Monday. Right?

They just came in today, so I think I'm going to read The Nightly News tonight just because as I understand it, it's his first real book. I'm just confused by your statement, though. Hickman isn't on art in SHIELD, I thought. Or is he drawing some stuff in Vol. 2? I've only read Vol. 1 so far.

Dustin Weaver does most of the art but Hickman helps with layouts. He's not a bad artist he just likes to break the conventional panel structure. This isn't a bad thing per se, but whereas with Jim Steranko it's dynamic and flows, Hickman's are neat but confusing. Nightly News is still a good story, though. Hickman also helped do layouts near the end of Secret Warriors and I could immediately tell because it started getting muddier.

I also cannot recommend his Fantastic Four/FF run or his Ultimate Thor mini-series enough. FF is, in my mind, his best work.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, I've noticed that already. It makes for an interesting read, though, just in the trying to find out how to follow the book and whatnot. But I can see why it would get tiring. I'm glad that you recommend F4, FF, and UCThor. I'm going to be investing in those very soon. I have his "Dark Reign: Fantastic Four" book which I remember got some criticism (at least by some of my fellow Marvel interns at the time), but I actually thought the book wasn't that bad. It's fun to read his older stuff though and see how it all very clearly influenced Secret Warriors and S.H.I.E.L.D.

I've only read the first issue/chapter of The Nightly News so far. It's a lot to take in off the bat, but I did like it. I'll be reading more, if not the rest, tonight!

EDIT: I finished The Nightly News last night, and I feel like I now have a greater understanding of Hickman's later works. I'm thinking of starting Pax Romana tonight.

I've read Pax Romana. It was interesting because the book was about "how did we get here?" instead of "where are we going?" But even then, we still don't know how we got to where we are without reading all of the ancillary stuff at the end of the book. So, it was an interesting read, but not my favorite. I prefered The Nightly News, but I haven't decided if I liked it more or less than Red Mass for MARS. All that I have left now from his indie stuff is Transhuman. I'll probably his Fantastic Four stuff soonish. Budgeting is a bitch. XD

    Heeh

I'm working on finding/finishing the Dark Horse release of Lone Wolf and Cub :p

That alone is over $200 if I don't find discounts.

Right now it's mostly Captain America and Falcon, Incorruptible (for one more month at least), some Wonder Woman research, and the Emperor Joker storyline. (what a goofy/awesome tale)

I've been reading the Walking Dead series, and I'm also watching it on TV. Gave the graphic novel a try after I watch the show, and I love it. Twice the zombie experience!
